The Gran Melia Cancun 5 * hotel in Mexico is a claim to a very great steepness !! ! He is handsome and even pompous. BUT!! ! We lived in pyramid number 5 (vip), in a standard room. The rooms are luxurious and very comfortably furnished. They have everything: a large bed, a sofa with a coffee table, two chairs with a table, a large plasma TV, a luxurious balcony with two sun loungers and a table, an ironing board and an iron. The view from the balcony to the Caribbean Sea is something unimaginable that can only be understood by seeing. A bit difficult to manage showers, but you can figure it out. The service does not correspond to the situation and claims for 5 *. When we checked in, our suitcases were taken from the reception, they said that they would take us to the room and they would take us there, but wait 5 minutes. We waited 10 min. and nothing. I had to go and run over, after that everything was decided instantly, but this is no longer 5 *. . . Cleaning in the room was made only after a remark at the reception. Beach towels are stained. . . In the bar on the beach, the bartenders do not give a menu and try to fool with the prices of cocktails, they do not give cocktail tubes and say that it is not allowed (fun). We booked accommodation + breakfast. Breakfasts are normal buffets, but not very varied and tasty (you can eat). However, in this "cool" hotel it is impossible for its own guests to dine. I meet this for the first time. The hotel has three restaurants: with seafood on the terrace, Mexican cuisine and Mediterranean cuisine. To dine, you need to book a table with the concierge a day in advance, which you need to look for throughout the huge hotel. Without it, they will not be fed. In a seafood restaurant, the assortment of these seafood is not even meager, but miserable, they are cooked tasteless, moreover, eating this food is afraid of the consequences. In a restaurant with Mediterranean cuisine, the food is generally disgusting for a lot of money: seafood soup is 3 shrimp and 1 scallop, which the waiter poured broth from a jug (probably from a cube), a seafood appetizer is a huge plate and again 3 shrimp on it . Such a dinner cost more than 800 pesos (80 US dollars). HORROR!! ! Therefore, to eat you need to go to restaurants outside the hotel. But the trouble is that all of them are not very close. All in all, expensive, though. . .
