I can't resist writing my own review. The sixth day we are resting with my husband at the Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa, and I can honestly say that this is a really high-quality vacation. From the moment you arrived in the Maldives, time seems to have stopped, such a measured life reigns here... If you expect noisy discos, parties and animation from a trip, you are not here. Centara is for those who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of megacities and restore their nervous system.
I'll tell you in order. A ticket for 7 days (Deluxe Water Villa, ALL INCLUSIVE) was taken in Coral Travel. Aeroflot flew from Sheremetyevo at 8.50m. The plane was incomplete, as the flight was regular. The food on board was disgusting, but this is more of a claim against the carrier. We landed around 10 am local time (time difference with Moscow +1 hour). Passport control in Male passed without problems and fuss. I would like to note that the local airport is very dirty, and does not pull at the international level. Luggage did not wait long, which is nice. The representative of the tour operator very politely told how to proceed. The transfer from the airport is very fast. A branded hotel counter at the airport - a smiling Thai woman (yes, a lot of Thai women work at Centara) escorts you to the boat with the hotel logo - smiling Maldivian guys put on a vest and let's go! 15 minutes across the ocean at a speed of 50-60 km per hour and we are there. Then everyone greets, rejoices, smiles. The check-in time was 14.00, and the clock was about 11.00, and we were offered to "walk" around the island for the time being. This upset us a little, and we went to an open bar on the water to kill some time. As soon as I took a few sips of white wine, I noticed that a girl from the reception came to the bar to pick us up. She said that our room is still being cleaned, but she can offer an alternative. Since all water villas differ from each other only by their distance from the island, we gladly agreed to a replacement. It turned out to be one of the farthest water villas (about 500 meters from the island), which even pleased us - it's an easy way to keep yourself in good shape.
Then began a calm and measured rest. Contemplation of the turquoise water in the ocean, swimming in the waves, swimming with a mask and snorkel, morning walks around the island (full circle - 10-15 minutes), lying on the beach with headphones, and mandatory photo shoots. Very relaxing and leisurely entertainment. In the evenings, they were added to lying on the grid of an open bar (Viu Bar) and meeting the sunset to the romantic ballads of a local talented boy. Once every two days he came with a guitar and speakers, settled down on a chair and performed well-known hits, but in a completely different... romantic manner. His gentle and pleasant voice caused pleasant goosebumps, and in combination with the general atmosphere, these evenings gave tremendous pleasure.
I will tell you a little about accommodation, food and service.
The water villa was very comfortable with a stunning view from the window. I was surprised why everyone actively discourages choosing this type of accommodation, because this is the only way you can feel the real Maldivian romance. The room has everything you need. Huge bed, LCD TV 32 diagonal, air conditioning and ceiling fan (in case you open the door to the terrace). Of the little things - hair dryer, hygiene items, safe, refrigerator. The mini-bar is paid, but with the all-inclusive system, we didn’t use it much (except for the daily eating of nuts and chips). 2 bottles of water and tea and coffee accessories for free. Room cleaning 1-2 times a day. Removed cleanly. Only men work as cleaners.
There are no complaints about food. The main Oceans restaurant always pleases us with a variety for lunch and dinner (for breakfast, a set of dishes is standard). Of course, if you list other countries where we rested, and all inclusive was richer, we can come to the conclusion that it can be better, but why bother with a meaningless comparison? By the way, for those who care about the figure - a lot of "light" food, even low-calorie desserts. I really liked gaining a lot, but feeling light after eating, because my whole lunch consisted of vegetables and fruits. In addition to the main restaurant, in fact, there is nowhere to eat. Some places serve small canapé s, cinnamon rolls and tea/coffee at certain hours, but we didn't really need it, so we didn't attend lunches. For those who are interested in alcohol - there is a lot of it here, and it is of high quality. If you want wine, they will open a bottle for you, show you that it is Chilean or Italian. As a result, you understand that the risk of being poisoned by a fake, which is bottled in a nearby basement, is minimal. You can drink everywhere - in the lobby bar, in the pool bar and in the open bar on the water. In the evenings, alcohol is served with dinner. For a change, we reserved 2 a la carte restaurants (Thai and Arabic), I can say that I liked Thai more. But this is a subjective opinion, since visiting Thailand in 2010 I have been in love with Thai cuisine.
Service in all restaurants, bars and other places (diving center, reception, etc. ) is amazing, people are friendly and helpful. Each employee of the hotel must greet the guest of the hotel. It is very pleasant, and nothing overshadows the rest.
A little about the cons. Where without them? First - just one souvenir shop. If you forgot your phone charger or ran out of sunscreen, go only to Male. A trip to Male costs $60 per person plus 18% taxes. Expensive. Secondly, there are few excursions in the program (that's why we didn't take anything). Thirdly, the weather in August is still unpredictable. In the morning the sun shines brightly, and by lunchtime in 2 minutes a huge black cloud rolls in and the storm begins. Amazing nature. During our vacation it rained every day, but not for whole days, but for several minutes or hours. Everything else in the rest - solid pluses.
