+ A large number of restaurants with cuisines from all over the world: 8 restaurants and 3 bars.
+ Gorgeous house reef, located very close to the beach.
+ Very green island.
+ One of the best discos in the Maldives.
+ On the beach there are sun loungers for each room.
Cheerful, crowded hotel. A large territory - like in a bot. garden. Billiards, beautiful pool. The hotel pulls on a solid 5. The best water transfer among all seen. Awesome shampoos and gels of our own production. Large gift shop. Champagne for breakfast unlimited.
Minuses:
There is no feeling that you are in the Maldives. Aircraft noise is annoying, especially early in the morning. Not a convenient access to the beach - there is no way to go out through the balcony and close the room.
The first and most vivid impression is the island itself! To say that the beauty of this island shocked us is an understatement! An emerald lagoon, fenced off from the ocean by coral reefs, where very beautiful fish live, coconut palms against the backdrop of a bright blue sky, magnolias, white sand……. . In general, you can list indefinitely.
We took a ticket from the tour operator "Tez Tour" (checked - we have been trusting for more than a year! ). We flew from Moscow-Male (direct flight) with the airline "Transaero". The flight took 8 hours. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were again greeted with 5+ with cool wet towels and a coconut cocktail. If you are newlyweds, I recommend to remind about it just in case at the reception. Before settling, we were given a room key, information about the island and the hotel.
Settled very quickly! They gave me the right number! In the room, as a gift, there were fruits and the bed was also decorated with flowers. The hotel employees are very pleasant, friendly, always smiling when they meet and, wanting to do something nice, they try to greet you in Russian. There are 9 restaurants and bars on the island (Mediterranean, Italian, Japanese, Indian, Chinese and Arabic cuisines, grill, seafood dishes). We did not regret that we took only breakfasts, went to restaurants for lunch and dinner. The restaurants had everything your heart desires and pizza and squid, king prawns, all kinds of European salads. All restaurants have different cuisines. We have visited everything. Our favorite restaurant was OCEAN GRIL. Corevelve prawns, lobster and tuna were cooked divinely there. and what kind of desserts they have - just a meal. I really liked the Fihamina Restaurant.
We went on 3 excursions: to a desert island, to night fishing and to dolphins. The excursion to the uninhabited island made the biggest impression on me. We rode on a boat for about an hour, then they gave us fins with masks and swam to the island in masks and fins, examined the underwater kingdom. The island turned out to be quite small. My husband and I walked around it in about 25 minutes. They put us umbrellas, laid towels, constantly brought drinks, and prepared lunch. I must say right away that on such an excursion take sunscreen with you, there is nowhere to hide and you can easily get burned. Which is what we did. I was still nothing, a little red because I had prepared (I went to the solarium before the trip), and my husband was like cancer). Night fishing delighted my husband, but somehow I was not impressed. On all excursions offered soft drinks, alcohol (wine, beer).
On the island, a beer cost $7, a bottle of wine $45, a lobster $115. Our island is quite large.
We went around it completely, probably 4-5 times. and other times they reached the middle (there was just a bar on the seashore) and sat in the bar. It only rained once. Comes very quickly and passes just as quickly. It got dark early at 6 o'clock. There was not much entertainment on the island (there was no animation, as in Egypt or Turkey, of course), but there was live music, karaoke. You could also dance and sing. We enjoyed the live music. There are 2 swimming pools on the island. One of which we only found when we went shopping on the island. ))) The staff works quickly, tactfully, friendly, always smiling. We were 100% satisfied with the service. (although as I was told, for that kind of money, they would not run and fuss). My husband and I spent a great honeymoon and did not regret for a second that we chose the Maldives as a vacation spot ...We definitely still believe there. Maldives is heaven on earth...
P. S.
The Maldives is an unforgettable country of islands, which you want to return to again and again! ! !
We flew to the Maldives with Transaero and, of course, many thanks to the girls from the Olympic Star company, who made us very good. cheap flight on business, thanks again so much. for 8 hours of flight we were not at all tired. We flew to the Maldives in the morning, and we were taken on a boat to the hotel along with other guys (with a cat. Of course, we became friends) it all took about 15-20 minutes. Close. We were accommodated in a bungalow with the beautiful name deluxe bungalow. I advise everyone to deluxe bungalow, because. we saw what a superior is and, to be honest, we didn’t regret at all that, on the advice of the ag-va, we paid a little more, but we lived in a separate house right on the shore. The hotel is quite calm. There is no noise, except for fishing, there is a karaoke bar where we sang with the guys in the evenings. During our vacation, we visited only 5 restaurants, but I can say that the hotel is great, they made a buffet option for seafood dinner and at a completely reasonable price, we paid only $ 50 per person and just enjoyed dinner. Once we went to the main island of Male - there is nothing to do. I do not advise. The main thing that you can get from a holiday in the Maldives is silence, tranquility and comfort. I advise everyone. And thanks again to the girls from the Olympic Star company for such a vacation and personally to Victoria
Therefore, there is always a full house. And not only Russians. The residence of the President of the Maldives occupies the island closest to Kurumba.
His residence is visible through binoculars, surrounded by pillboxes with loopholes, and pumped-up short men - fighters of the local COAST GUARD - patrol along the illuminated coast. The president receives all VIP guests not just anywhere, but on Kurumba. Recently, the President of Sri Lanka also rested here. The whole island was surrounded by patrol boats and rubber boats with machine gunners. Then came the princes from Saudi Arabia. However, no one guarded them. So the life of a small island in the Indian Ocean is in full swing. Divers diving here are very happy. Few people know that all underwater safaris that are held in the Maldives often take place there. The only negative is that after the warm current in 1999, most of the corals died, both in the Maldives and in the Seychelles.
The corals are just beginning to recover, but there are places near Kurumba within an hour's boat ride where the corals have thrived. Nearby are two unique places where you can see six-meter manta rays. Whale sharks are about to show up. Everywhere there are a lot of turtles, huge tuna. I recently met marlin in the water. Few scuba divers can boast of this.
Diving in the Maldives cannot be compared with diving, for example, in the Red Sea. It's completely different. Only here I met almost limitless visibility under water, in general there are a lot of special impressions. From Kurumba, divers are often taken to dive to neighboring atolls, where ordinary tourists for 100 c. u. e. ride on airplanes. Yes, you get a diving certificate and you will see the same thing, only you will dive more, and you will save three times. Having a PADI or CMAS dive certificate in the Maldives is all in one. For 3 months I learned how to extract and cut coconuts.
At first, this procedure took two hours, now it takes 10 minutes. He learned how to carve a palm tree and make decorations from it. Studied the technology of releasing shells from mollusks. Learned to distinguish a lobster from a lobster and a spiny lobster. I used to think it was the same animal. These skills are unlikely to be useful in Belarus, but after the Maldives I hope to live, for example, among cannibal Papuans. This prospect suits me better than enduring the horrors of Her Majesty Winter.
There are simply anecdotal cases with tourists on Kurumba. In November, the "new Russians" came with their families. They came to my diving center: “Where is the Russian-speaking instructor? ” Themselves 150 kg each, gold chains 2 kg each, fingers in diamonds. Well, my first reaction was to run around the corner in horror. The boys brought with them diving equipment from the best companies for 6 thousand each. Some dive computers per capita - three.
They catch me and say: "Where can I buy branded lead weights here? " The silent scene was long, I could hardly digest what they wanted from me. Then it turned out that they had not dived anywhere. Worked out 2 days before departure in the pool, stocked up on equipment - and now all their problems are mine. In general, "new" divers were loaded with 15 kg each. "Stoked" one at a time. One fine day they say: "Where can you shoot here? " I wonder what and with what?
It turned out that the birds. The boys brought pistols to Kurumba! How - no one knows. Yes, the trouble is that there are no birds on Kurumba - only flying foxes. In general, events developed further like this ...A couple of days later, someone robbed the number of one of the boys. They called the police. Measured something, interrogated. They all got up in the middle of the night. Well, the matter seems to be understandable - the guys robbed themselves out of boredom, and they will make claims either to the hotel or to the Moscow travel agency. Made a list of stolen...
An expensive laptop, the latest video and photo cameras, a digital camera. The whole hotel stood "on the ears" for a long time. There are thieves on Kurumba, and it must be one of the staff...
Departure in a week. Tourists go through an x-ray at the airport. Customs finds in a suitcase a young Moscow boy of about 20...a missing computer, a camera, a video camera and, to the great horror of the local police, ...an undeclared pistol. The young moron famously robbed the "new" boys and even drew documents with seals that it was his computer.
Male airport was horrified - an unprecedented case. Russian bandits calmly drive around the islands with automatic weapons. Slavic terrorists among Muslims!
Four armed Interpol officers went to Moscow to accompany the thief. He stole it, he stole it. Then the tourists said that the "brothers" nearly got these Interpolovites when they got on the plane to beat the thief.
I have been wintering in the Maldives for six years and have changed a bunch of islands. Now I'm in Ellaida. This is my 12th island. Especially for tourists, travel agency workers and, first of all, for divers, I drew a website www. mydiving. org for my articles in several languages, photos and maps of sites and dive sites.
The island is great. When choosing a hotel, many people think that it is near the airport and supposedly noisy. Guys, you probably haven’t been to other islands where ordinary maize growers fly and start warming up their engines at 7 in the morning. The kirosin stench is impossible from under the propellers. And on Kurumba there is silence and grace. And in Male, in just 15 minutes, you can go shopping by boat.
By the way, the best shopping is not where they take you, but on the main street, where there are a lot of traffic lights. It's about twenty minutes to go inland.
