Worst honeymoon - quarantined
April 26, my family and I flew to the Maldives from Dubai. Traveled on their own. We flew to the Maldives for the first time. We decided to get married on the resort island of South Male. I really liked the wedding, sunny photos, I liked everything. Then we decided to visit the local island of Rasdu, where the locals live. After staying for 5 days, we were about to fly away, before the flight we passed the test for coronovirus. After 24 hours, I got a positive test, my husband got a negative one - although we slept on the same bed and drank from the same bottle. My daughter, 11 years old, was also not found. I did not have any symptoms of the disease and temperature all day. I feel great.
We believe that the test itself was done incorrectly, that the material was taken incorrectly, or that my result was rigged for me in order to get money from tourists. I was not allowed to take the test again. My family and I were taken to an old hotel, which has no employees or vacationers, it is intended for quarantine. They said to sit here for 14 days, without the right to retake the test for covid. I was placed in one room, my husband and child in another. You cannot leave the room. Our medical insurance merged, justifying this by the fact that we flew to the Maldives through Dubai, so we pay for accommodation (for 2 rooms and for meals) ourselves for all 2 weeks. After quarantine, the husband and daughter must also pass a covid test at their own expense, and only then will we be able to fly.
I was told that they would give me a document that I had spent time in quarantine and they would no longer take the test from me. We believe that this is a set-up of pure water. There are no tourists at all on the island and they do this to people, locking them up for 14 days in quarantine. We called the Russian ambassador in the Maldives, he said that he could not help, this is the policy of the Maldives and that hundreds of our citizens are quarantined and not allowed to retake the test, whether tourists are on an expensive island or not. This is how local people earn money, because of the small capital gain. Prices are crazy for everything! We recommend not to travel to such countries during a pandemic.
