We chose Holyday Island Resort. We flew through a transfer in Dubai, the plane lands at the international airport of the capital of the Republic of Maldives, Male. From there, we were also taken by plane to Maamgili Island, which is located next to Holyday Island Resort, where we got on a boat. Looking ahead, the airport is not visible from the island and the noise of the aircraft is not heard. If it were not for the reviews that there is an airport there, we would not even know about its existence. Our luggage was transported from the airport to our room by the hotel staff. From the boat we went to the pier of our wonderful island and saw empty beaches, there were practically no people, the azure transparent sea on both sides, we were enveloped in a warm sea breeze. This island is not particularly popular for tourists and therefore it is an ideal place for couples to retire, especially out of season.
On one side of the island is a huge sandy beach with chest-high water, ideal for swimming, relaxing and sunbathing. In the center of the tropical jungle with beautiful palm trees, dividing the island into 2 parts. On the other side of the island there is a beach for snorkeling, where there is a house reef, although it is dead, there are a lot of fish there. Small sharks splash around the shore, basking in the sun. At first I was afraid of them, but they are completely harmless and always keep their distance from people. The coastline on this side is very short and your houses are 2 meters from the sea. The island also has a beautiful spa, tennis court, gym, diving center. We were settled in room 151 with access to the main beach. The room is cozy, clean and comfortable. Cleaned 2 times a day, changed towels. Service 10 out of 10. The room has a large window and access to the terrace with 2 chairs, which is surrounded by palm trees. The staff is very friendly, everyone greets and smiles, it is clear that people are happy living in the Maldives.
For diving enthusiasts and not only, for example, I had never snorkeled before and did not think that I would like it so much, this island is perfect. House reef with many fish, depth from the waist up to 170 cm, with a total area of approximately 1 km2. The fish are all beautiful, colorful, we saw stingrays, a lot of baby sharks (they are absolutely safe), and a wonderful sea turtle swam to us, with which we made circles).
Nearby is the large Sun Island, which has a free boat ride. It is more popular, it also has nice places like overwater bungalows, big size spa. But we warn you, there are a lot of Chinese and Russians, you will constantly walk around the island and swim among them.
Food - fed smartly, the variety of fruits was amazing, most of the fruits we had not even tried before. Very tasty local papaya. Always 5-6 types of meat, fish, a lot of side dishes. Great desserts with a huge selection. Your table is assigned to you in the restaurant. The only negative in the hotel, perhaps, is the waiter in the restaurant, who will constantly ask you to buy different dinners on the seashore at a high price.

We ordered a seaplane, and a plane for 50-60 people flew in behind us, that is, an ordinary plane is not a seaplane, everyone did not understand, at first they accepted it normally, it is bigger and better, flew in 20 minutes, boarded a bus and drove to our boat, It didn't take long to sail, because the island was just a stone's throw away. They unloaded us and went to check in at the hotel, of course, you can’t say anything very beautiful there, they came to us and gave us a cocktail, a cold towel, filled everything and gave us room 110, they just came to the chic room, access immediately to the beach, everything is clean, service is good. In the morning we ate, swam, sunbathed, in the evening we just rested. We went to Sun Island for a show, stingrays and sharks, I fed the stingrays, they are very good and the sharks that are under the water bugnals. They always swim there with people, I could not, honestly, I didn’t like Sun Island, it’s like a big city, there are a lot of people there, and everyone rides these bikes, it’s impossible to relax there. We arrived there at 21:00 on a luxury boat, back only at 00:00 return, sailed on a small boat. We got on Catholic Christmas, so the whole hotel was decorated with lights, just the whole, everyone had gifts in the rooms that were not so big, they made an underwater world in the cafe, it was just gorgeous, there was a huge schedule from December 24 to January 1. The dinner was perfect, they made huge chocolate houses, there was Santa Claus, at first there were cocktails of various kinds, then a huge dinner, a concert, karaoke, the Russians rested as much as they could. But, there is one minus when we were supposed to fly to Male again on this plane, it was canceled due to their holidays, everyone became indignant, or 20 minutes by plane or 2.5 hours by boat. Naturally, they gave money to everyone, and they had to sail on a boat, they raised us at 3 in the morning, gathered us at the reception, fed us breakfast after 2 hours, only at 6:30 in the morning we sailed, at 3:30 we were just kept at the reception, I already fell asleep there . But for our Russians and us, it was not a boat that came, but a huge yacht, with an open top, inside sofas, a TV, a toilet, everything was as it should, met the dawn, and I fell asleep and slept for 2 hours before Male. Also, the sunsets there are perfect, I remember there was a moment when the water came down, we watched the fish, which are just not there, a huge number, the sharks are small, the rays swim right to the shore, in fact, he sailed only once to the shore, usually they swim near pier, and at night you can come to the pier and feed the fish) Small lizards live near the room, very beautiful birds fly, iguanas run, foxes fly, which are very similar to a bat) People who want to fly to Holiday Island fly, this is a chic hotel , it was created specifically for relaxation, but the best rooms are from 100-130 because they go to the beach where there is nothing but white sand and a calm ocean, on the other side of the island there are only corals, you will break your legs rather than rest, there is also a landing strip right in front, and it doesn’t smell very good, so it’s better to live where we lived, it’s good there, one day there was a heavy downpour, it flooded a little bit, but everything was quickly removed, and then it was sunny, I advise you to fly November, December, January and February in dry season, because there is nothing to do in the rains) don’t listen to anyone, when I flew, I already imagined there, but I saw and understood that in life what is in the photo, one to one, if you need a relaxing holiday, then you are in Holiday Island, there are not many people there, +32 but it is very comfortable there, you do not suffocate, and you almost do not sweat.
