I will try to be brief, but I will try to dwell on some things in detail. Deciding to combine business with pleasure: vacation and study, more than a month later I turned to the STB tour company. Initially, I asked: a 4-star hotel or a family, the main condition is single occupancy... and, accordingly, a school. Have chosen…. At work, I wrote an application for a vacation... I started packing my bags... Since I did not want to travel far (and stand in endless traffic jams), I turned to the tour. the agent who works with this company entered into an agreement with them and paid 50% of the cost. A few days later they call me back and say: that there is no such proposal. What is: LAL school and Days Inn residence (3-star hotel). I read the reviews: they write that everything is bad. I call the STB tour: they convince me that the residence has been renovated and there are no problems. Although they say they are ready to return the money...
And so, for 1850 euros for 13 days I received:
Flight: ArMalta airline - no flight delays. Good planes.
Days Inn hotel: no communication with the outside world - for two weeks my relatives never got through to me. Other than that, I never even got through to the Maltese phone numbers.
He writes that there is WIFI - the first 5 days of my stay there was no Internet, then they connected it. And he worked not in the rooms, but in the residence.
TV: I couldn't turn it on for about a week because there was no remote control. When I received it, I was convinced that I was fussing in vain. Only two Italian channels show normally, and the rest is impossible to watch.
And now cleaning: after my check-in, they didn’t clean for a week. I call a representative of the STB tour company - she says that she is not responsible for my accommodation, I should contact the school. Then I made a fuss at the reception in broken English. After a while, a man came up to me and offered a vacuum cleaner. In general, I removed the number. True, every morning a cleaning lady began to break in on me, apparently to neatly fold the dirty towels and hang them in the place where they should be clean - this is what I could not understand until the last day. By the way, after my "concert" they even gave me a clean bed. The truth changed itself.
Transfer: Arrived - met. Forgotten back. 3 hours before departure, I was still in the hotel. I call a representative of the STB tour company, she says that she is not responsible for the transfer and that I had to come to school and find out everything there. Who would tell me about this??? ? I had to take a taxi.
And now the LAL school.
The first week went just fine. On the second, the composition of the training group changed and problems began. The group consisted of 2 Russians, 2 elderly German women and one unemployed and homeless (so he said) Portuguese, who all the time chattered with the Germans in German. Another one is French. It was with him that we performed group tasks. The big problem is the unregulated air conditioning. In a tiny room, the temperature dropped to 17-20 degrees, outside it was 35-40. By the middle of the second week, I came to school with a fever. Another student from Russia was already sick. To our request to turn off the air conditioner, they said: these are your problems, not ours... The teacher did not intervene in the conflict. I left school... I was treated for the last two days... It's good that I took the drugs. No one from school bothered about my health.
Excursions: the LAL school does provide them, but... the registration is in advance... a week, two, or even more. If you came to study for two weeks, you may not get on the excursions. Since the most interesting excursions were sold out, I had to invent entertainment for myself.
Independent rest: In Moscow, I bought an amazing guide to Malta. It was he who helped me see this wonderful country and meet absolutely amazing people.
PS/Yes, dove-eyed blondes: keep in mind that not all restaurants will be happy to serve everyone, especially if the waitresses are girls. And lastly, be careful, the Maltese men are not as simple as they seem at first glance. Usually they lie in wait on the beaches, they pretend to be tourists from Italy, Portugal....If you talk with them for a long time, then you understand that people are lying, and without a twinge of conscience.
