Rested with her husband in Sliema, at the Carlton-3 * hotel from 05 to 18 August 2012. So, in order. The road from the airport to the hotel took about 25 minutes, given that other tourists were transported along the way. We arrived at the hotel at 9:30. To our delight, we were seated immediately. The room is clean but simple: shower, TV, air conditioning. Small balcony overlooking the sea. There is no beach of its own, the municipal one is across the road, without sunbeds and umbrellas, mostly a stone slab and a little sand on the side, however, as elsewhere along the coast. Everywhere there is an entrance to the sea. For those who can swim, no problem. The stone slabs are quite even, so it is quite possible to do without sunbeds. The water is very clean and warm. There are almost no waves, because. this is a bay. A little further towards Valletta - the open sea, it sometimes stormed there. Food. They took only breakfast, monotonous, of course, but everything is always fresh. Opposite the hotel, on the promenade there are enough cafes where you can eat. The average check for dinner with wine is 40 euros. Portions are huge, so we took one salad and one hot for two. Always fresh seafood, a lot of Italian dishes. Next to the hotel, up the street 50 m - a mini-market where you can buy everything you need, open on weekdays until 21.00, on Sat - until 12.00. On Sunday, shops in Malta do not work, with the exception of large shopping centers. For shoppers, there are shopping streets, but all decent shops are in Valletta. Prices are about the same as in Russia, but there are a lot of discounts. Near the hotel there is a bus stop in both directions. The fare is quite expensive - 2.20 euros for 2 hours, 2.60 - for the whole day. Excursions. There really is something to see in Malta, but everything you want in one trip is simply unrealistic. You should definitely go to Comino, to the Blue Lagoon, it's a fairy tale! And to Sicily (it's not cheap, though, 127 euros per person, but it's worth it) Mdina was not particularly impressed, the fortress, Yu as a fortress. In general, there is a small company "Oasis Tour" near the hotel, you can buy any excursion from them, the prices are different - from 16 euros per person, discounts for children. Be prepared for the fact that the Maltese are not particularly punctual, the bus was late for all excursions for minutes at 15-20. In all other respects, the Maltese are very pleasant and friendly people.
In general, I really liked the vacation, Malta is an amazing country and, if possible, we will definitely come there again, already with the children! I hope that my review will be useful for someone.
