arrived at the hotel on 08/10/12 at 7.30 am (me + husband + daughter 13 years old). The room was given by 12.00 (LUCKED!! ) on this luck ended. Placed in building "E".
ROOM: The furniture is scarce, old, shabby. There is a refrigerator, empty. The linen is clean. change 1 time in 3 days. Towels are changed as needed. But most of all I was struck by the SHOWER!! ! This stick sticking out of the wall put me in a coma for the whole vacation, because. it is not realistic to wash yourself without getting into the bath (there is no bidet! ).... More. . .
BEACH: going down the stairs (there are 512 of them) you get to the "beach" 3-4 meters wide and with sunbeds standing in two rows. By the way sunbeds have to borrow at 6 am! The tightness on the beach that even the bees have nowhere to sit. The bees on the beach are apparently not visible, they make hives in the stones on the wall. Nobody is going to destroy the hives. The beach bar is largely closed. Therefore, for a beer or some water, you need to run up the stairs to the hotel lobby bar.
SEA: every other day the seashore is covered with a thin film of kerosene, because in the immediate vicinity there is a mooring of yachts. Proximity to the yacht club and surfers is very annoying. Surfers come from Valletta and other cities. And all this crowd of sailors hanging out on your beach. At the same time, the HOTEL STAFF EVERYTHING DOES NOT care!!!
RESTAURANT: the menu is the same every day. drinks for a fee.
breakfast - hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, toast, 4 types of yogurt, croissants, cheese, ham, tea and coffee (from the machine);
lunch - mashed soup, chopped cabbage with carrots, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, pickled boiled beets, 2 types of pasta, DorBlue cheese, crackers, ham, baked ham, cutlets or chicken legs (boiled), ice cream, pie or bargaining ( delicious;
dinner - grilled beef or pork (Wednesdays and Fridays), meatballs or fish, boiled potatoes, Olivier type salad, shrimp or cuttlefish salad, pasta, boiled carrots, ice cream, cakes, whipped cream.
YOU WILL NOT BE HUNGRY, BUT AT THE SAME TIME FOR 4 DAYS SUCH FOOD IS BORED.
WHAT'S NEAR?? ? NOTHING!!!! ! It is a 15-20 minute walk to the store, which is open from 8.00-20.00, on Sunday in Malta there is a general OFF! 1 restaurant 300 meters, another restaurant 1.5 km.
The only PLUS of the hotel is its own beach without paying for sunbeds.
In the hotel after 21.00 life stops.
Tried to be short. but it didn’t work out....and this is still a lot to write! Good luck to all!
The representative of the meeting party - guide Natalya from ASB TOUR (as it seemed to me) is not particularly interested in tourists and is somehow indifferent, not active or something... but she can also be understood - the end of the season, she is already tired... However, in due time time each time appeared at the hotel and resolved all issues, if suddenly they arose. For example, horse riding was not offered in any catalog, but when I asked to find out, she found an option in a few minutes.
In general, I advise everyone, I will be happy to return to this hotel again)))
Wonderful island, traveled all over it. We stayed at the Mellieha Bay 4 * hotel, quiet, cozy, ideally suited Us.
Many thanks to Ludmila.
We managed to catch the yellow buses and even ride them, they were replaced by green ones with air conditioners.
But Malta and even this hotel is much better and cleaner than Turkey and Egypt.
Get a guide, in Malta you can buy in Russian, and drive for your pleasure. If you want to go shopping, take the 645 bus all the way to Sliema, and right in front of you are a bunch of shops and cafes, and sightseeing boats sail through the bays of Malta from here.
Thank God they did not choose the second and third! Just on August 21-28, fires raged there!
Malta is a beautiful country. First, I remembered the far forgotten English language. Secondly, the country is small and cozy. Third. . . I'm in a great mood. . . always!
1969 hotel. Both the furniture and the bathroom are a rarity. It looks like nothing has changed in 40 years! Worn and old. But I liked the design of the room!
Very strange sockets (probably so that the kids do not climb with their fingers) you can’t insert anything into it without a key. So if you need to recharge your camera or phone - choose to watch TV or recharge your equipment: there is only one socket!
Strange lock system at the balcony door. When you enter the room for the first time, call the maid. She will clearly explain to you how to open the balcony door. It's complicated.
I will warn you: REMOVING disgusting! Towels for our entire week in Malta were not changed even once. When cleaning, she wipes only the floor and takes out the trash! linen is also not changed. But I'm not pretentious.
Unusual shower - the faucet sticks out of the wall. Don't turn on the shower right away. When I washed there for the first time, I did not expect that I would be doused with cold water at once. Jet under pressure. AND TIP: wait two or three seconds until rusty water drains from the tap!
The beach is tiny and sandy. Take sunbeds at 6-7 in the morning. Lovely beach. The water is clean, calm. The sand goes smoothly (there are no sand drops under water). Excellent infrastructure. Gardens, parks, flower gardens, 5 swimming pools (one indoor - closed). The smell of incredible colorful hibiscus hits the nose. . .
The best rooms are under the letter A (we lived in A43 - the coolest room, ask for it), and our friend in A 130 (also beautiful). Building A is the best!
Every evening animation. On the first day, the Beatles played the boy band - everyone danced. For that, then for the whole week every evening there was animation only for the little ones. And, of course, we didn't go. Clap-clap, top-top is not interesting...
The food is monotonous. If I put 10 for food at the hotel in Tunisia Thalassa Sousse, then here I put 3! Every morning is the same. So buy yourself not only breakfasts, but also dinners. By the end of the week, I was already sick of breakfast. Dinner is basically the same. And the most stupid - local wines are paid. Although I've never seen it!
CAREFULLY! This hotel gives a cruise on the lagoons to all tourists from Moscow. You can't take it. It's free - give up. I felt "free cheese only in mousetraps", so I refused tickets. Firstly, before this ship, you still have to drive half the country, to Sliema. Secondly, there are 500 people on the ship itself! Thirdly, there are no stops, it is very slow and cradles everyone. And on this ship there is no swimming stop in the blue lagoon, in Comino!
Near the beach there is a yellow stand on the shore. The same trip, only on a small boat costs 11 euros per person - but you are taken to the blue lagoon directly from the hotel, it is fast, with stops, with a 3-hour swim in Comino. Wonderful!
