I thought, suddenly someone is choosing a hotel in Montenegro right now, and I am chilling, killing time before dinner, instead of writing a useful review. So, the Palmon Bay hotel in Herzog Novi. Rested with a friend from June 25 to July 2.
In general, the hotel is really the newest and the best hotel - we agree with the characteristics found in the reviews, especially after walking through the narrow city streets. There are many apartments of varying degrees of comfort in Herzog Novi, our hotel looks very dignified - a small well-groomed area, clean and cute, a convenient location at the beginning of the promenade - neither the Balkan nightingales to the deafening applause of grateful spectators, nor incendiary discos until the morning. This is a plus.
We arrived at 11 o'clock in a large group, we were the only ones who were lucky to settle right away - they managed to clean up our deluxe, the rest waited until two. Not a problem, by the way, and the hotel has many cozy corners with comfortable sofas, and there are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, where you can pass the time. This is also a plus.
The room is spacious, a balcony overlooking the greenery, other houses are further away, the sea is not visible from our balcony. The silence fully compensated for a small drawback - out of habit, I wanted to drink a glass of wine in the evening on the balcony overlooking the bay))). survived. This is not a minus. There was cleaning.
The staff are helpful and pleasant, diligent in their own way: ordering a double espresso every morning in the lobby (I'll explain why later), every time I got an improvisation on the espresso theme in the presentation of the barista on duty (I know that there are buttons with inscriptions), but the variations are not repeated. This is not a minus, rather, the costs of the modern educational system. And adventure.
Getting closer to the downside! When choosing food, we were guided by elementary convenience, so we ordered breakfasts and dinners. Before I start talking, I want to emphasize that we are talking about a four-star hotel. Breakfast - eggs in all forms (fried eggs, scrambled eggs, boiled, fried, all kinds), all kinds of sausages, local yogurts, cold cuts - cheese and ham, tomatoes, olives, local cheese (sometimes delicious, sometimes feta, sometimes how it happened). Monotonous, but you won't leave hungry. From drinks, multi-colored sweet chemistry and coffee from a cunning machine that produces an unthinkable abomination with the taste of instant coffee. That's why they dragged espresso from the lobby. Dinner in a hotel performance is a waste of money and time, and a complete inconsistency with the proud stars at the entrance. Fish - dry as the sole of a Kenyan marathon runner (out of 7 times 6, but once they did it, yes), steamed vegetables without salt and other harmful seasonings - for zealous followers of a healthy lifestyle, chicken (hello, school cafeteria, I didn’t have time to miss you ) and a pleasant exception - delicious beef stew (they haven’t adapted to spoil it yet). A glass of wine with dinner? No. Tea or coffee - wash off the taste of dessert? No. You sit like this in a half-empty hall (it’s clear why it’s half empty), you choose something edible from what the distributors put on it, and next to it is a glass of cold water... In general, food is a fat minus. And it's not that there was no usual buffet, to hell with it. The fact is that everything (with rare exceptions) is completely tasteless. That's total. I was fed so badly about ten years ago at Viimsi Spa.
If food is not important, then everything else in the hotel is very good, including a private beach with sunbeds and towels. Having a fair amount of experience in beach and resort holidays, they are always attentive to the choice of hotels, but it didn’t even occur to worry about food, there is always something tasty, and that’s enough. But so that - everything is tasteless, by God, for the first time.

Beautiful modern hotel, good restaurant, excellent buffet, polite staff. Quality umbrellas and sun loungers on the beach. They don’t bother with cards for beach towels - everything is on trust, no one controls the delivery of towels: they took it at the entrance to the beach, handed it over in the evening or left it on a sun lounger, the staff collects it.

The hotel is located near a pedestrian promenade, many shops, cafes, travel agencies.
My complaint is only about the bathroom in the room: the walls of the shower are covered with some kind of porous plaster instead of tiles, I can’t imagine how it is possible to carry out sanitary cleaning on such a coating, therefore, while swimming, I tried not to touch the walls. The floor of the bathroom is also strange, covered with a film, which is already missing in places. Room cleaning is not very thorough.
