I am writing this review already on the plane, so to speak, in fresh wake. I do not advise tour operators, of course, if they value customers, and even more so vacationers, choose Wave Beach resort! In addition to the view of the ocean, a calm, relatively bay, and the opportunity to see monkeys, sometimes turtles and squirrels on the territory, this is where the pluses of the hotel end! The hotel is not 3, most likely 2 stars, very dirty! I didn't like it at all. Firstly, the air conditioner worked very poorly, in order to fix it, we would have to move to another room for a day, we refused. The fan worked only at the last speed - also bad luck, it was not possible to change the number. The laziest staff! until you beckon with a bill, you can not even dream of cleaning the room. And this is not only my, some special opinion.
If you still decide to go to the wave beach resort, do not stay in rooms under the roof, it is very stuffy there, these are rooms 4.5. the kitchen was tasty at first, but greed took its toll, and rice and seafood began to cook for several days, not fresh! There was a problem with water, for 3 days from the shower tap, smelly water flowed! my wife got poisoned and fell ill for 2 days (she washed the fruits with this water)! And to be honest, I realized that in Sri Lanka you should not count on a normal vacation with a low budget (2000 for two - breakfast 9 nights). Everyone who travels to Unawatuna check with your operators about traffic from the airport - imagine you are flying two flights with a transfer of 4.5-5.5 hours, and then you still get to the hotel for 4.5 hours in crazy heat and a jam-packed road! ! ! Because hi-way is paid + you need to bring the rest of the vacationers, so spend another 50 dollars on an individual taxi, believe me it's worth it. And immediately tune in to the fact that the Sri Lankans are big crooks. At every step they will try to deceive you, Egypt is just resting in this regard! All the same, change the currency at the airport (17.8 it seems) or in any jewelry store.
The Unawatuna resort itself cannot be called a Vapriore resort! I didn't see any good hotel there! All that distinguishes Unawatuna from other places is a large barrier - a dead reef that does not allow the ocean to reach the shore, and you can swim in the ocean with relative calm.
