Hotel ratings by criteria:
We stayed at this hotel during the May holidays. We were 9 people so we had someone to hang out with. In general, visitors to the hotel are British and Germans. Age 50+. Young people are not very interested there. There is no disco. There is no entertainment nearby. This is not "THAILAND" there is something to compare. The hotel is strictly for a relaxing family holiday.
Now everything is in order.
1. When checking in, a couple of guys ordered rooms with a view of the Laguna. The view was, of course, "AMAZING", namely, at a distance of about two meters, trees grew in the canal that were not well maintained, that is, branches, all kinds of garbage, and all sorts of things actively floated in their shadow. The view was absent, and in the evenings it even filled with horror. Due to the fact that a guard is constantly wandering under the number, it means that he expects that someone will sail from there : )

2. The room itself is neat. Except for the fact that the rooms have not been renovated for a long time. Many shelves, cabinets, bedside tables are broken. The beds are not two sleeping, but two single beds are simply shifted and lie on some kind of supports. The rooms have split air conditioning systems, and even a ceiling fan. Which, in principle, saves from the heat, but the bungalows are located so that they are constantly in the shade. Rarely does the sun hit the window. The window is a door to the terrace, which, in turn, is also an additional exit to the street, with a concrete bench for two and an additional two plastic chairs.
The room has either a shower or a bathtub. My room had a shower, which was very convenient.
The safe in my room didn't work. With repeated comments from the hotel administration, the safe was not repaired or replaced.
The neighbor's house was being renovated, builders worked from morning to evening. In general, they certainly did not interfere, but it cannot be said that it was comfortable. When builders walk under your windows, and even of Asian nationality, half-naked, barefoot. They caused shock when they cut drywall with a grinder. The dust is terrible and it flies into the room.
3. Pool is good. At first, it killed the fact that in order to get to the pool you need to go through a shallow pool, but over time you got used to it and even became cool.
The second joke every day you need to ask for a mattress and a towel to be brought to you on the sunbed. Given the fact that the staff is not very active in doing this, you have to sit and wait until it happens. Mattresses are old and dirty. Towels are given one at a time and only under the head and ass. Thus, the legs lie on this dirty mattress. They asked for two towels - they gave them out with difficulty and literally a couple of times.
The pool bar is another story altogether. In the presence of the fact that the hotel allegedly works on an all-inclusive basis. The bar was practically closed. There, around 10-11 o'clock, a bartender appeared who asked what to bring you. In the "All Inclusive" they only include beer, coca-cola, sprite, and local juices that are diluted with concentrate. All fresh juices, cocktails, and any spirits are PAYABLE!

But it's still half the trouble. Not always of course, but often the bartender took the order and left. He returned in 20-30 minutes. And that did not always fulfill the order completely. This, of course, is probably already a bias, but why declare the “ALL INCLUSIVE” system then? And how does it work? If your order is fulfilled for more than half an hour. You can already refuse. If there was someone in the bar, we would certainly go right there. But there was never anyone there.
The pool water is warm and clean. Every morning, the staff cleans the sides, collects foliage from the surface of the water. During the working day, there are specially trained staff who chase crows and all kinds of birds who want to splash in the pool. And indeed it is. Crows in large numbers splash in the pool when no one from the staff sees it.
4. Restaurant. Food and range of dishes in the restaurant is quite diverse. Lots of European cuisine. But most of the dishes due to the fact that it is very hot there are SPICY. Many dishes are not familiar to us. But this is Asia. The breakfasts could of course be varied. But there were some cereals, scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, fried bacon, stewed beans, rice. Lots of different buns and sweets. What is really tasty and a lot there is Pineapples, Papaya, Bananas. Watermelons are not tasty - very watery and not sweet.
Fruit salads were sometimes sour. There was no dairy or cottage cheese at all.
5. Animation in the hotel was missing. The hotel itself has a gym, basketball field, golf course, water volleyball. We saw the team once when they invited us to play water volleyball in the very sun!
On weekends the hotel fills up with locals. A lot of weddings take place in the hotel, you can see it is beautiful there, unlike other hotels, or so it is customary.

6. We ordered excursions on the street. A guy works under the hotel who, well, tried very hard to make us like everything. We drove along the coast. We were in the Yala National Park. A very beautiful place. The hotel in which we lived was of course not entirely clear to us, it's probably 2 stars. The conditions there were close to Spartan. Mosquito nets over the beds, doors that can be opened simply by leaning on them. Drunk Sri Lankans who disturbed my friends' sleep - singing songs about the wonderful country of Sri Lanka.  Elephant riding is different from Thailand. You need to sit on an elephant one after another, the elephant is constantly trying to eat something from the trees, thereby shifting the cape. And after 10-15 minutes it becomes not easy to sit on an elephant. The thorns of his fur dig into his legs, the heat burns in his back. In a word, extreme. The most interesting thing is that half of the village came out to watch us as we rode elephants. For them, this is probably a kind of entertainment to watch how Europeans suffer while riding. : )
The country itself is much more interesting than India. But in terms of security, it does not inspire a sense of calm. There are armed people everywhere. There are real checkpoints on the roads. A bunch of armed people with some periodicity on the roads stop cars and check passengers and cargo. It was easier for us because they simply looked at the Europeans and let them go. Probably due to the fact that there was a whole group of us.
