Hello everyone. While the memories are fresh, I decided to leave a review. To begin with, our trip was the most, which is not spontaneous. Work got tired, noisy, crowded Kyiv tired, the day of the constitution was close, and the soul wanted bread and circuses. On June 22, after work, I began to look at what was offered, there was nothing interesting: crazy prices to where I didn’t really want to. In frustrated feelings, she resigned herself to the idea that she would still have to hang around for the holidays in Kyiv. But something on June 23 blew me up early in the morning, went into net and saw a tour to Sri Lanka, Kogala beach hotel, departure was tomorrow, flight, 7 days, 6 nights, accommodation, insurance, breakfast-dinner, and for all this 630 USD per person - as for me SHARA. Without thinking for a long time, I filled out a request for a tour and sent it to an unfamiliar tour. company, literally half an hour later they called me back, confirmed the presence, and we rushed to the travel agency. The travel agency quickly booked everything, wished us a pleasant stay, and we rushed off to pack our things, knowing that you had a flight in just a few hours, and there was a lot of work to do, the most important thing was to understand where we were flying, what to read, adrenaline went through the roof.
We bought a tour at the Arriva agency (Kyiv, Borisoglebskaya, 12, the tour operator was Join Up - you can safely cooperate with them - checked)! And then the day of departure came - 06/24/2012, as expected, they arrived at the airport in 3 hours with full bags of food, as they found out that the flight would take 9 hours and no one would feed during this time (Fly Dubai Airline - they do not feed on the plane) . Departure from Kyiv was at 14-15, arrived in Dubai at 20-10 (04-55 local time). The flight was transferred normally, as they took off and as they sat down they didn’t kick, without delay. Then there was enough time for someone to smoke, for someone to go to the toilet and again to the sky. We arrived in Colombo at 04-35 their time, the time difference with Kiev is + 2.5 hours. It’s cool on the plane, screens are built into the seats, on which you can always see where you are, what you are flying, what temperature is overboard, what height, you can order food and drinks, watch movies or listen to music for money. By the way, the prices on the plane are not that expensive. A normal butrik to have a bite to eat is 40 UAH, drinks are 10 g each (water, cola). In Colombo I was met by a representative of the company, we all ran to change money (100 rupees, roughly speaking 1 dollar), buy local SIM cards, as advised in the reviews. But don’t take my opinion, our friends purchased a card, but didn’t find any money in the account, we also purchased a defective card, since there was time to return it all, you can purchase this card for 100 rupees - 1 dollar in any store that connected with the connection and put as much money on it as you need. We put 10 dollars and did not even use half, the connection is very cheap, a call for 1 minute to Ukraine is 3.5 hryvnias. They put us in buses and took us. On the way to the hotel, we were a little shocked - garbage, dirt, ruins, dark, scary, reckless movement without rules. By the way, it is already light at 6 am, and it gets dark at 6 pm. In order not to see this whole unpleasant picture, we decided to sleep, and then an unpleasant surprise awaited us along the way - we broke off halfway. tired, hungry, we just got to the hotel at 10-00, and when we went to the reception, the ocean appeared before us, palm trees - all fatigue, as if removed by hand. We were settled quickly in Kogalu Beach as it was written in the voucher, our friends in Kogalu village. We were given a room on the 2nd floor with an ocean view. the room is not super and not terrible, we knew where we were flying and did not expect chic rooms with snow-white bed linen. the room had all the necessary old furniture, a refrigerator, a TV (many channels, but not one in Russian), air conditioning, 2 bottles of water, by the way, they brought us 2 bottles of water daily, which our friends did not have. Normal bathroom, lots of towels, hair dryer, soap, shampoo, shower cap and of course a balcony with a table and chairs with a great view. as we were told, we arrived out of season and therefore there were at most 50 people in the hotel from all 3 complexes, there were few Russians, sunbeds are always free, there are no queues in the canteen, I realized that I like to relax out of season. Yes, the weather was incomprehensible: a heavy downpour for 10 minutes, then again the sun, the ocean was always restless, the waves were crazy, standing up to the waist could cover with a head, but we swam - a buzz. except for the Russians, no one swam in the ocean, the Germans constantly stuck near the pools.
Hotel.

the hotel consists of 3 complexes: kogala village, kogala beach and long beach. What can I say about the village, our friends lived in it, something is being built there now, the rooms are no worse than in the scourge, only there was no hair dryer, refrigerator, they cleaned worse, they didn’t bring water. There are also bungalows, but to be honest, it’s dumb to live in them, because they are near the ocean. There is also a canteen and a pool, but the pool in the beach is the coolest, as it has a view of the ocean. By the way, regardless of which hotel you live in, everyone freely uses the pools, canteens, sunbeds, and the territory of other hotels.
Kogala Beach in my opinion was 3+, all rooms with ocean views.
Long Beach is a new hotel, so that it is very different from other complexes - no (except that there was wi-fi everywhere, we only had it at the reception). We looked inside - so the furniture is the same, somewhere there are old TVs with plasmas. Prettier and newer barchik, reception, but the prices in the bar are the most expensive of the rest.
Food.
There is no doubt that we have the most delicious food. food for me was cathartic. we had breakfast-dinner, not even knowing what to tell you: do I regret that we had half board or had to take ol or eat on our own - I don’t know, I wouldn’t dare to eat in local cafes, but ol really probably shouldn’t take costs. we drank coconut milk for lunch, it satisfies hunger and thirst well, we ate fruits, I advise everyone to try rambutan, mangosteen. But back to the food, the food is very, very peppery, despite the fact that I like spicy, it was too much for me. I thought that there would be a lot of seafood, but there was only one type of fish, and it was so spicy that it was not possible to distribute it whether it was tasty or not. There were crabs, there was some sort of assortment of seafood, there was rice with seafood - tolerable. Chicken, the meat is very tough, everything is standard for breakfast - eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, chicken sausages.
From drinks something incomprehensible, I do not recommend
From fruits it is always the same thing: bananas. papaya, mango, pineapple, watermelon, bought 4 coconuts from locals. for 1 dollar
they wrote that there were delicious pastries, I thought I’d come off, but to be honest, apart from buns with raisins and croissants, nothing touched my soul
from alcohol: we didn’t try wine, beer is so-so, coconut rum (arak (which everyone advises) is also not good.

There is no animation and no entertainment, so from 6 pm we walked every day back and forth, chasing crabs, trying to see turtles laying eggs, but we saw only medium-sized and sometimes swimming in the ocean, drinking beer, eating fruit, listening to the sound of the ocean and enjoying it greatness and so on for 6 days.
As for excursions, since all the sights were far from us, we visited only the nearest ones. and our goal was different, not a sightseeing tour, but a beach, calm one.
Were in Gala, saw the Fort, the lighthouse - nothing special, but the view is cool. Visit the market in gala where you can buy fruits, seafood. We bought 3 mangoes, papaya, mangosteen, rambutan for 1000 rupees ($10). As for souvenirs, it makes no sense to look for them somewhere, we have shops in the hotel where you can buy everything.
Were at the lake. The trip cost $25 for two. We saw a crocodile, monkeys, monitor lizard. visited the temple of the Buddha, were with a family that grows cinnamon. bought cinnamon sticks and ground, expensive 10 dollars.
Were in Unawatuna in the lagoon, not very impressed
We advise you to walk for about 20 minutes along the beach to the left; a beautiful view opens there; they also say that turtles crawl out to lay eggs in the evening
The locals prepared us king prawns for $10 per 1 kg. not tasty and expensive, in Kyiv I took these shrimp for 60 UAH. on a fishing day in Silpo.
Yes, by the way, don’t see the local scourge fights that push you on excursions, they rip us off 2 times more, then they also demand money for constantly walking with you. Out of our ignorance, we were so swindled and so much money was withdrawn that we then began to see clearly that someone was given such good money. in the future, they only used the services of tuk-tukers outside the yard and are inexpensive and do not stick, they will wait for you as long as necessary, and they will bring you, and they will take you, and they do not require anything more. I must say that the local population is very annoying, it is very good that they are not allowed into the hotel. But from local women you can inexpensively buy a cool pareo for 500 ripias or 40 UAH, T-shirts with funny elephants at the same price.

In principle, I am satisfied with the rest, I received moral satisfaction, rested, enjoyed the beauty, and I plan to return to Sri Lanka again, but this time we will take a sightseeing tour.
Have a good rest, if you have any questions, write, I will be happy to answer.
