Hello.
The first time we went in 2016 through a tour operator.
The second time we organized a trip on our own, since everything was already familiar.
We booked the Club Koggala Village hotel on booking (non-refundable amount), for 14 nights, at breakfast, and a pleasant expectation of the day of departure began)
Before the trip, we contacted the hotel, asked for a certain room in which we had lived earlier, the hotel confirmed our wishes in a response letter.
When we arrived, the local with whom we spoke in 2016 (and his name is Patum, and about him a little later) told us that the Club Koggala Village hotel is CLOSED!
We didn’t believe it, we asked to be taken to the hotel, to which the guard replied that this hotel was closed, go to the Koggala Beach Hotel, okay, we arrived, we were settled, everything is ok.

Russian-speaking staff works at the hotel reception (the hotel is a big plus for this), the area is clean, constantly scratching, wading, sweeping, cleaning, tame chipmunks are chasing around the territory.
The pool is cleaned every morning, well done.
Breakfasts, you can find something for yourself....not a fountain, of course, you won’t stay hungry... (I would like to note that some employees working in the restaurant have a fungus on their hands and feet) the sight is not a pleasant one.
The room is cleaned well. Do not leave any food, ants will immediately crawl in....(put everything in the refrigerator) even if it is an ordinary cookie.
The beach - for two years the ocean has strongly washed away the coastal line, that in the Club Koggala Village the sand is washed out in human height, there is no descent to the beach.
But near the Koggala Beach Hotel, the beach is excellent, the waves are strong.
To the right of the hotel, if you go a little further, some kind of devastation, dirt, a lot of garbage......
Of the minuses
Local beach fights or tuk tukers were very tense, they constantly stowed like meerkats in holes between the bushes and constantly tried to attract your attention and sell something to you at a "Very good price for you"
Go around them on the tenth side. And don't buy anything from them!
They are especially surprised that you walk, they are very surprised and angry why you don’t ride their tuk tuk “How is a tuk tuk not needed? How to walk?
Yes, that's right, we are athletic, and we love to walk)
For all 14 days of seeing you, they ask the same question, very boring... actually gloomy and not smiling people . . just watch and take a closer look for the first few days (I understand that the local rum brightens up all the shortcomings and you just don’t think about it, because looking forward to vacation)
Patum, with whom we talked in 2016, has changed a lot, began to deceive people, people complain about him on social networks (deceiving)

What happened to us, he tore off a double amount for the excursion, on the day of the excursion he merged himself and did not go on the excursion, but instead of himself he sent a person who did not speak a word of Russian, deceived and spent 2 weeks in the bushes, did not get in touch....
And we brought him gifts, and wanted to travel around the island with him, and see what we didn’t have time to see in 2016. It's unfortunate that people change so badly. Just spoiled the whole impression of the country...
Thank you all for your attention.
