Good hotel, well-groomed territory, clean comfortable rooms, friendly staff, delicious food, exotic fruits. There is everything you need for a good rest.
The ocean is just super, huge waves, you just need to swim carefully. The beaches are spacious and long.
We spent a lot of time outside the hotel. We met a local resident on a tuk-tuk (there are plenty of them near the hotel) and traveled all over Kalutara with him. These boys call themselves - city-boy. They show all the sights, help to skimp on the local bazaar, and in general it is easier to walk around the city with them, then others do not bother. It is almost impossible to walk in the city by yourself, everyone clings in a row. P. s. if you are in the city, be sure to buy a bottle of Red Rum, there is definitely no such thing in duty free  After a few sips, you will feel like a pirate; )

Not far from the hotel is the blue lagoon. A very beautiful place, there are no such waves as in the ocean and you can safely swim. Locals also sell drinking yellow coconuts there (brown, as it turned out, they only eat, but both are very tasty, much tastier than after being transported to us). Also, a lot of fruits are sold near the hotel and all fresh juices are $1. Try everything, you won't regret it.
There is always such a smell in the air as multifruit juice, and everywhere!
There is also a river not far away, where you can see live crocodiles and huge monitor lizards, much larger than those that are found in the hotel.
We took one excursion as a guide from a tour operator. They were very satisfied. We rode elephants, saw their largest botanical garden with breadfruit trees, monkeys, snakes, etc. etc. We visited tea plantations. By the way, do not spare money for tea. Really the best Ceylon tea. You can even take not the most beautiful packages. It's the same inside.
Do not spare money on fish dishes. All the fish in the beach eateries, which they call restaurants, are brought live from neighboring fishing villages. For $10 you can have a very tasty meal. And these are not those squids (lobsters, shrimps) that were frozen, refrozen and brought to the store. The difference in taste is just amazing.
… I can talk for a very long time, but it’s better to go and see for yourself. I liked everything and it's not even in the hotel. The very atmosphere of the country is inviting and relaxing. So, take a tuk-tuk and go ; )
