The hotel is located in the city of Hikkaduwa, on the ocean, fully corresponds to the description on the websites of travel agencies, an iron three-ruble note, quite suitable for living. The room has air conditioning, a safe, a refrigerator, a fimigator with mosquito repellent tablets (although there are not many of them, we were not particularly bothered), an electric kettle and a replenished supply of tea and coffee, sugar and cream (there is drinking water in the minibar for money).
It is better to take rooms on the 2nd floor, in the rooms of the 3rd floor there are windows facing the street, it is noisy and there are mosquitoes, and in the rooms of the 1st floor it is dark, in my opinion, and there is no balcony, there is an exit directly to the lawn. There is no entertainment in the hotel, there is live music in the restaurant in the evening (local musicians). There is an Ayurveda center, although I have never seen clients there. Cheap laundry - 2 men's shirts and women's breeches washed well for 70 rubles. The pool is small and the water smells a little like bleach. There are good sun loungers and free towels by the pool.
The food is quite normal, breakfast - fruits, eggs, sausages and toast, dinner - rice, pasta, meat, vegetables, desserts. Spicy dishes are located on a separate table, but they also come across on a common table, try carefully. We didn’t have lunch included, we went to different cafes, there are a lot of them nearby, there is a liquor store opposite the hotel, prices are fixed, state-owned, there is a minimarket nearby - you can buy everything you need - water, cigarettes, etc.

Now for the disadvantages. Essential, in my opinion, one - next to the hotel you can not swim in the ocean, because. there is a coral reef. You can walk right along the coast meters
500- to the Corel Garden Hotel, where you can swim and snorkel (this is not the Red Sea, but there are fish), feed the turtles.
And you can walk to the left along the beach - 200-300 meters, there is sand, but it quickly becomes deep, you can’t swim much, strong waves. Surfers hang out there, you can hire an inexpensive instructor, try to learn if you want.

Mostly pensioners live in the hotel, there are almost no Russians, and the bulk of the people
it happens there for 1-2 nights, so I advise this hotel to those who want to relax quietly, although there are cafes nearby where you can hang out with locals in the evening and not
local.
