5 days of adventure!
So we are in Sri Lanka! Tip: immediately upon arrival, visit duty free, exchange dollars for rupees, buy a SIM card. We did so, after which we found our representative (the host of the Deluxe Holiday) and went to the hotel. We spent 6 days at the Jungle Beach Hotel near Trincomalee, after which our new guide Akila came for us (we found it via the Internet), of course we worried whether we did the right thing, or maybe it was necessary through a tour operator, but we were very pleased with the result. So everything is in order.
1 day. We left the hotel at 15:00 and headed towards Kandy. On the way, we visited Khabarana (we rode an elephant) very much, our son fed bananas to the elephant, and our guide filmed our trip on video. After that, we hit the road again and at about 20-00 we stopped at the first hotel, it turned out to be the Boulder Range Eco-Resort in Dambul. The hotel is quite nice, clean with a large area and a good pool. We had time to swim and have dinner.
Day 2 We left the hotel at 9 am. On the way to Kandy we visited the Spice Garden, then the beautiful city of Kandy and of course the Botanical Garden, the Temple of the Tooth Relic and an evening dance show, again at 20-00 we stopped at the Kandy View Hotel, the room is very interesting, with huge panoramic windows (in our room ), a very good breakfast and even with a swimming pool.
Day 3 Departure at 9 am and our way lies in Nuwara Eliya. On the way, we visited tea plantations, a tea factory, visited 7 waterfalls and examined Nuwara Eliya - a beautiful park, a lake, rode bicycles, in the afternoon we went to Yallu, we stayed at the Lakeside Hotel for the night. In general, the hotel is promising, good territory, swimming pool, spacious rooms, but all this needs to be thoroughly washed, then it will be super!
Day 4 Jeep safari in the Yalla reserve. I liked it, although elephants were seen only once, and from the jaguar they noticed only a tail, many birds, monitor lizards, crocodiles, buffaloes. After the safari we headed to Unawatuna. On the way we visited the Galle Fort, a geyser in the ocean, visited the lighthouse, the view from the lighthouse is amazing and in the evening we stopped in Unawatuna at the Baby Red Fish Hotel. The hotel is small, but very clean, although the veranda overlooks the roofs of the neighboring hotel, but the beach is 2 minutes away. And the beach is something . . there are no waves, the sand is soft, the color of cappuccino, the entrance is gentle, in general the place is amazing. It was a pity to leave.
Day 5 Departure as usual at 9 am. And we're heading to Bentota. On the way we visited the museum dedicated to the victims of the Tsunami, the Museum of Masks, a safari on the Bentota River, a turtle farm and visited our Akila. At 18-00 we arrived at the Bentota Beach hotel, where we spent the next 4 days.
The story turned out more like a plan for the topic of our journey, but if you describe everything in detail, it will turn out to be very long and long. The delight from the trip still does not let go, the nature is super, the attitude of people is beyond praise. Many thanks to our driver Lally and our guide Akila. My story is more like a guide to interesting places, go and see for yourself. Of course, we still haven’t had time to see much, and therefore we will return to Sri Lanka more than once. If anyone is interested, write, I will be happy to answer all questions.
