Beware the swindlers from the Bank of Ceylon!!!!!!
I will definitely describe our trip to the beautiful country of Sri Lanka in the very near future, but now, according to fresh memories, I want to warn tourists about scammers from the BANK OF CEYLON at the airport. After the rest, we had 17 thousand rupees left and we decided to exchange them for dollars at the airport. Without suspecting anything, we went to the counter of the Bank of Ceylon (bypassing the counter of the Thomas Cook bank, although upon arrival we changed the currency in this bank), putting 17 thousand rupees on the counter and asked to exchange it. The manager, smiling, took the money and asked some question in Sinhala, I looked around to call my son, and when I turned to the bank employee, he defiantly counted the money and instead of 17 thousand, he had only 14 thousand in his hands, 3 thousand simply disappeared . We tried to prove that the money was counted a second before it fell into his hands and we are sure of the amount, but everything turned out to be useless, he pretended that he did not understand us and was not going to give us anything. In short, the idea of my story is as follows: TOURISTS, BE CAREFUL WHEN EXCHANGING CURRENCY, DO NOT GIVE MONEY IN HANDS TO BANK EMPLOYEES WITHOUT COUNTING THEM IN THE EYES OF THE BANK WORKER.
The country is beautiful, the people are wonderful! Such troubles will not spoil the impression, but the sediment will remain.
