holidays in Sri Lanka
Our trip to Sri Lanka began on 08/02/2014 with a flight by Sri Lankan Airlines. I read negative reviews about Sri Lankan Airlines, but hoped for the best. Everything turned out great. There was nothing to even complain about.
The tour was bought in ART TRAVEL STUDIO. Everything was well organized.
The program was called "journey to the east. " But this is a purely conditional program. In fact, you can build an individual route. So, in addition to the established program, we added a day in Colombo. The trip around the country began in Colombo, then Dambula, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Maale, Sigiriya, Mineriya. It took 5 days. Then rest in Trincomalee at the Anilana Nilaveli hotel.
In Colombo we stayed at the Galle Face Hotel. The hotel is very well located, in a wonderful old building. He seems to be standing over a cliff and the ocean is raging under the windows. In Colombo, there really is nothing to do, but you should draw this conclusion yourself, because you still got certain impressions from this city. Didn't regret visiting at all.
Further during the trip we stayed in 3 star hotels. The hotels we stayed in were chosen by the agency. But they turned out to be quite worthy for their stars.
I would like to separately mention our guide, who accompanied us during the trip. His name is Tiranjin. Rest was a success, including thanks to him. He knows the language, mentality and customs of Russians well. Studied in Tashkent, worked in St. Petersburg. He took care of us like children. Managed the sightseeing time well. He arranged at his own expense a small farewell event on the day of parting, on departure he called, when we were at the airport, to clarify whether everything was in order. I am writing this so that if you have the opportunity to choose a guide (and Tiranjin is a "free artist"), try asking for his accompaniment.
Anilana Nilaveli (beach hotel in Trincomalee, where we spent 8 days) the hotel is good, but it's just a vacation. There is nowhere to go around. Trincomalee is by no means a tourist town. There are no tourist streets and cafes. Complete gassing. For entertainment, take a boat trip to Pigeon Island. Once we went with great pleasure (I consider it an obligatory trip), but the second time I did not want to.
We went to see dolphins in the ocean. But it's more of a "divorce". With difficulty for 2.5 hours, chatting on a fragile boat over the waves, we saw several dolphins jumping out of the water. When the boatmen arrived, they said that we were lucky that we saw dolphins at all.
Be sure to try the local rum Callypso Gold. It does not compare with Cuban and Dominican. Made from coconuts.
In addition, in the central part of the island, a fruit called “sosav” grows, from which the juice is made of a cloudy transparent color. Amazing taste! But, unfortunately, it is not delivered even to other parts of the island.
And to sum it up, Sri Lanka is a wonderful country worth seeing. And, what is especially pleasant, they love Russians there. And why, you will learn by visiting this country.
