For a very long time on the Internet I chose a hotel in Sri Lanka for a quiet family vacation, for me it was important. I knew that the consequences of the tsunami on many islands left traces of devastation, dampness and corrosive fungus. Therefore, the purpose of the search was for the hotel to be small, fairly new, not far from the ocean and away from noisy restaurants. I really wanted to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. My choice was Romantic Villa. .

We flew with Emirates Airlines: 11 hours on the way, transfer to Abu Dhabi 1 hour. Compared to our airlines, it is inexpensive and comfortable: in front of each passenger is a monitor, remote control and headphones (movies, cartoons for children, games, etc. ). We arrived in Colombo at night. The airport is big, everything is clean, the staff is smiling. We were greeted and brought to the villa.

Even with night lighting, we were able to see the extraordinary beauty of exotic flowering shrubs and landscape design of a small area of the villa.
Tired from a long flight, we entered the room, it was the same as in the picture of the site. The room has furniture made of natural wood, there was an insect fumigator in the outlet, everything is clean and everything is in working order. Almost new bed linen and towels. All cabinets were stocked with air fresheners. Very pleased with the competent installation of air conditioning away from the bed. There is a ceiling fan above the bed. Such a well-thought-out design helps to avoid colds from sudden hypothermia of the body. We were delighted! ! ! We fell asleep to the singing of lizards unknown to us. In the morning we got up and hurried to breakfast. In the sunshine, the courtyard of the villa was even more beautiful.

Breakfast included freshly squeezed juices and some local cuisine. The dish is unusual, but we really liked it. After breakfast we met our guide Janaka and another family who arrived 1 day before us.
I wanted to take a break from the trip, but we were persuaded to take a two-day excursion to Sigiriya and Kandy.

The entire coast of Sri Lanka is municipal and does not belong to hotels. In some places, the view is spoiled by the unkempt territory of the local residents of the village. The wind scatters garbage all over the coast, the locals do not pay attention to it. From the villa to the ocean a maximum of 7 minutes by tuk tuk. . The coast is clean, fine sand and always warm ocean. The waves were so strong that they knocked you off your feet. Anyway, we spent time until lunch on the ocean, almost in the water. The sun gently and imperceptibly bakes the skin very strongly, so it is better to immediately purchase protection from the sun and from burns. There is nowhere to buy in the village. Locals do not sunbathe and bathe in clothes. There are several cafes not far from the coast, which are inexpensive compared to prices in Russia. We preferred fruits for lunch, it's hot during the day and we didn't have time to be very hungry before dinner.

The fruits here are much tastier and the prices are symbolic: bananas - 60-80 rupees, red bananas - a little more, pineapples - 120 rupees. We liked the mangosteen and papaya with lime juice. In the evening we found out that the villa has free Wi-Fi. This made us happy, since we took a laptop with us. With our new friends, we walked in the evening along the street of the village of Beruwela. The locals are all smiling and saying hello. Young people came up and barely legibly offered us excursions on their Tuk-Tuk. With such guides, you can only get to the nearest store. The sunset in Sri Lanka is beautiful especially over the water. Every minute the sky is saturated with bright colors and as soon as the sun hid, it gets dark all around. This brings life to the village to a halt.

At 5 in the morning they took us on a tour to the car and gave us large packages with breakfast to take on the road.
With such an unusual and extreme manner of driving through the terrain of Sri Lanka, we realized that we would not drive on our own. The roads are narrow, lack of rules, road signs and police on the roads. Movement is left-handed. Simultaneously with the car, people are walking along the road, cows are crossing, dogs can run out and scratch in the middle of the road, motorcyclists overtake and, without any rules, little Tuk-Tuks are squeezed in. With all this, we have never seen a single scandal, everyone is calm, without emotions. In 2009, the war in Sri Lanka ended, which lasted more than 20 years. She did not leave her imprint of cruelty and callousness in the soul of the local people. The Sinhalese are a deeply religious people and, most importantly, not vindictive. We got a very good tour guide. In Sigiriya, he told us the history of Sri Lanka in a very interesting way. In the morning in Kandy, we got to the service at the Temple of the Tooth Relic, very beautiful, unforgettable.
We combined excursions and shopping tours in supermarkets. We were taken to supermarkets, where the prices were pleasantly pleasing.

I really liked the 2-day excursion to Yalla National Park. the jeep ride was cool and the sun didn't blind my eyes. Wild animals are curious and not aggressive at first glance, but we were only allowed to get off the jeep near the ocean. It is better to admire such beauty when you come closer. Large crabs run along the shore, and the oncoming wave covers them with milk foam, from under which only moving eyes are visible ...On the 2nd day, we rode with an entertainment program along the entire coast from the nat. park to Beruwala.

We visited several hotels at least 4 *, staying overnight.

All hotels were large and with a fabulous territory, but the rooms were disappointing: small, natural wood furniture, but very old, air conditioners above the bed were not adjusted, sometimes there was darned linen, there were no Russian channels on TV, the Internet was either paid or not at all. The food in the hotels is different, there is a menu to choose from, and there is also a buffet, depending on the contingent of vacationers. Hotels in which there are almost no Europeans, the chefs cook as if for themselves. The dishes, even if not spicy, still have a lot of local spices.

I didn’t make a mistake in choosing a vacation, so the days flew by unnoticed. It was a pity to part with the tourists with whom we rested, later we ourselves did not want to fly away. Staying at the villa, we decided that we would definitely come to Sri Lanka again! And only for this villa!
