Lake Alakol is the pearl of Kazakhstan
Our road trip took place in a Niva-Chevrolet car along the route Almaty - Akshi settlement (Alakol lake shore). The distance is 670 km. The road was not ideal everywhere, in some places the road was being repaired, and in some places after Sarkand, it looked like a washboard. We drove 12 hours. This is with stops. The places are very beautiful. This summer is quite rainy, so the steppe, even in the middle of summer, is not scorched, but covered with herbs. The relief is also varied - hills, plains, mountain passes. We arrived late in the evening, so Alakol appeared to us in all its glory only in the morning. We settled at the COMFORT recreation center. Although our tour started the next morning, we were kindly settled late in the evening and did not charge an additional fee. It took 10 minutes to walk to the shore. The shore is very interesting. A passage to the lake was cut in a high ledge, a narrow strip of pebble beach is covered with black shungite - this is an interesting mineral. Cold clear blue water beckons you after a tiring trip. The following days were quite hot, so the water gradually warmed up. We took an umbrella with us on a stand, this saved us from the scorching rays of the July sun. On the beach, merchants carried fried fish (Perch), boiled corn. The depth in the lake increases quite rapidly. Literally three meters from the shore, you no longer feel the bottom. The water holds well. It is transparent and you can see small fish. The real scourge of these places is mosquitoes. We took various means with us. There was a fumigator in the room. They sprayed once with a special solution, but they bite, no matter what. Even through clothes. There are no mosquitoes during the day, but in the evening, when you want to take a walk, play badminton in the fresh air, start a pursuit. It is necessary to wear tight clothes so that there are no areas of the naked body. The change of weather on the lake is accompanied by a strong wind, which bends the stunted trees planted on the territory of the recreation center to the ground. That's why trees don't grow there. And what thunderstorms there! Nowhere have I heard such a deafening thunder. But after the rain, what rainbows! Come, people, to Alakol!
