Trip to Petra from Aqaba
The hotel guide offered us an excursion to Petra. It takes 3 hours to get there by bus and the same way back. Lunch on the way. And about 4 hours with a guide to explore the sights of Petra. And it turned out more expensive than we went on our own.
We were not satisfied with this option. We took three taxis for 70 dinars (or $100). The road is 2 hours each way. And the taxi driver was waiting for us for 5 hours while we walk in Petra. I was 20 minutes late. But the taxi driver was not upset. But these 5 hours are not enough, even taking into account the fact that I walked very quickly. It really takes 7-8 hours to see everything and sometimes take a break. Bought us water and juice on the way. A one-day ticket to Petra (if you live in Jordan for more than 1 day) costs 50 dinars (about $70).
I once read about this taxi driver on the forums from tourists who traveled with him before, but I did not write down the contacts. I met him by chance in Tala Bay. He speaks excellent English and some Russian. His name is Mohammed Al Navasra. His phones are 00962795761196 and 00962776421464 (it seems that there is even one of these numbers in viber). Email malnawasra@yahoo. com. I was surprised when he showed me his Facebook page with a huge following: Jordan - The Best Way Of Holiday.
