A very good hotel. The top management of the hotel probably values the reputation of Intercontinental, because it is a chain of hotels around the world. One hundred percent five. There is a very large swimming pool on the territory, every morning and evening it is cleaned by hotel employees. Own fenced beach, very clean, sunbeds are free, towels are also given out for free. The Red Sea, or rather the Gulf of Aqaba. When we were there (first of June), it was completely calm. Perhaps this is because it is a bay. The food corresponds to the five. We were 7 days, so the food did not have time to get bored. As usual, there are several restaurants and a bar on the territory of the hotel, respectively, if you want variety, you can have dinner in the restaurant. We did just that: we went to a restaurant with local, traditional cuisine, everything is very tasty. You can also walk in Aqaba, because the hotel is located in this resort city. For shopping, this city is not at all suitable, because there are VERY few shops and shopping centers. Probably, this is due to the fact that this is still an Arab country and, possibly, women don't have that kind of love to shopping, like, for example, Europeans or Ukrainians. Although this is just my opinion. There are no entertainment such as discos or clubs either. That is, this resort is for those who want peace and quiet. Many people go to Jordan to look at the city Petra. I won’t write a lot about Petra, because there’s too much to tell, I’ll only say one thing - if you are interested in cultural monuments, sights, outstanding historical places, then you should definitely visit Petra, because it’s not in vain that she was given the status of a wonder of the world. Spirit It's exciting that this city is more than 2000 years old, and there are such HUGE buildings. How could people build such a thing so many years ago?
In general, my opinion about the rest in Jordan, in the city of Aqaba: you need to go there if you want:
a) visit really interesting places, go on excursions (in short: be sure to go to the Dead Sea, take a tour of the Wadi Rum desert, visit Petra, go to the Jordan River). These are all really interesting places;

b) if you are interested in a calm and quiet holiday in the hotel itself. By the way, we saw very few Ukrainians and Russians. But there were Germans, Americans, people of some Scandinavian appearance and the Arabs themselves (a little). 60-70. Perhaps this is due to the fact that we were there at the beginning of summer, and in summer it is very hot there, so many people prefer to go there in the spring;
c) if you want to relax among wealthy prosperous Europeans and Arabs (Jordanians), that is, if you are tired of the dominance of Russians and Ukrainians in common resorts, and especially tired of all sorts of rednecks (I'm sorry, I mean the behavior of some of our fellow citizens, as well as the love of many Russians to get drunk, rowdy and behave like pigs. The cost of holidays in Jordan is an order of magnitude higher than in Turkey or Egypt or Croatia. Yes, and the hotels there are all world-famous, there is nothing bad at all, therefore there is nothing cheap. that you can get into some kind of promotion, then you can count on a discount. By the way, you don’t need to get a visa to Jordan, they put it at the airport upon arrival. Prices for food and everything in general are quite high. Their local currency (dinar) is more expensive than the euro.
I would love to go there again, because in a week we did not have time to visit everything we wanted. I think Jordan is very interesting and unusual.
