Road trip in Europe 2017. Road to the famous resort of Cortina di Ampezzo
Today, 07/26/2017, I stopped in the most beautiful mountainous place Caviola di Falcade. As I already wrote, I'm tired of cities, rains, cold and heat, but I like nature more and more.
In the first lines of this short story, I want to offer my sincere apologies to the gentlemen and comrades of the Italians for belittling the beauty of the mountain roads of Italy. I confess that I was wrong. When I crossed the mountains of France towards Italy, I really liked the road and the mountains of France more. Now my opinion has changed dramatically. The mountain roads and terrain of northern Italy are beautiful.
From Bergamo I continued my journey along the road Turin-Milan-Bergamo-Verona-Venice. The road is like a road, cities are like cities, almost all have the same face. The free road lengthened my path and time, but gave me the opportunity to see the local flavor. The road from Bergamo to Cortina di Ampezzo, about 400 kilometers. The average speed is about 70 km. I have long dreamed of seeing this mountain resort in Italy.
The higher I climbed the mountains, the more beautiful nature became. There are so many villages and towns here that it is difficult to remember their names. You look at the mountain range. And it is full of villages. How do people manage to live there, and even develop horticulture and viticulture. On the plains of Italy, I have not seen such a huge number of vineyards as here. Vineyard plantations go on endlessly. Reproduction and culture of growing grapes is very high. Kuban is far from such a cultivation culture. Each bush is like an artist's drawing. Now I believe in Italian wine, but I doubt Kuban wine. Hundreds of hectares of famous vineyards have been given over for the construction of skyscrapers and luxury housing. The vineyards themselves are poorly cleared of weeds. There is no harmonious picture of the squares of vineyards, like the formation of soldiers during a parade. The Italians were lucky that they did not have our comrade Humpback in the leadership of the country. He put the Russian vineyards under the knife, and now, on the gold of the party, which has disappeared somewhere, he drinks French champagne and wines of past centuries. They say that they strengthen Gorbachev's health, and he bequeathed mumbling to the people of Russia. I really admire the vineyards of Italy, for which many thanks to the Italian farmers. What beautiful apple orchards! This is where tourists should be taken on excursions. Drink good wine and eat apples.
The higher I climbed the road, the more mountain hotels I met. Beautiful outside and comfortable inside. I wanted to spend the night in one of them, but the prices are from 80 euros and above. Yet I found one room for 70 euros per day. View from the window to the highest mountain peaks and beautiful nature. To the resort of Cortina di Ampezzo, I had very little to go along the most beautiful mountain road. Yes, the weather here is +18 during the day, and it was +8 tonight. Quite normal weather, even cooler than in rainy beautiful Norway.
