Amazing terraces of the healing spring!!!
Beautiful springs, also known as colorful springs, attract many tourists. This object is considered unique in Iran and rare in the world. Translated from Persian "Badab" means "mineral water". "Surt" is the old name of the village Orost. Badab-e Surt is the second largest after Pamukkale in Turkey is the world's largest thermal mineral spring.
These springs are located at an altitude of 1840 meters and are unique in Iran. In countries Turkey United States and New Zealand have similar sources.
The two springs have a different composition, so they differ in color, smell, taste and volume of water.
The first spring contains very salty water and accumulates pools that are about 15 meters deep and are useful for treating back and leg pain, skin diseases, rheumatism and especially migraine headaches. In addition, the spring does not freeze in winter due to its salinity. The second spring contains sour-tasting water that is orange or red in color because it contains a lot of iron oxide.
It is a stepped terrace formed of travertine, through which water flows from springs on the side of the summer slope. Multi-colored (orange, yellow and red) and different sizes terraces of this object were formed over the years, as a result of thermal springs flowing down the mountains. These floors and ponds are actually the main attraction and unique feature of Badab-e Surt.
The beauty of these terraces, the special location of the springs on the mountain range, the surrounding landscape is especially impressive at sunset.
The Badab-e Surt fountain is a geopark and was formed at the same time as the last Alborz range in the Pleistocene and Pliocene (fourth period of geology).
A visit to the source and pools of Surt is especially favorable in May, and the curious eye will be amazed by the natural landscape - forests and mountains in a circle. The most fantastic scenes of the region during sunrise and sunset are that the glow of sunlight in the pools and the reflection of their light, along with the shadow of the surrounding nature, reveal the delightful consequences of God's blessing that the prospects of this clergy are never forgotten. Again and again Nature beckons friends.
A news agency report dated October 20.2012 reported that Badab-e Surt was gradually being destroyed.
According to the report, despite the fact that this place is often visited by tourists, there are no fences, signs and tablets with information and recommendations. Despite the fact that in 2008 the Cultural Heritage Organization of Iran included Badab-e Surt as the second natural heritage monument of Iran after Damavand in the List of National Landmarks of Iran.
