Masouleh is a village in northwestern Iran, in the province of Gilan.

The historical and tourist city of Masouleh is one of the vast and cool regions of northern Iran with foggy weather, cool summers and snowy winters.

The village was founded in the 10th century and is inhabited mainly by Talysh people. The population is about 800 people. Masule is located in northern Elbrus near the Rasht-Zanjan highway, 50 km from the coast of the Caspian Sea. The climate is humid, with frequent fogs. The unique layout (height difference within the village is more than 100 meters, roofs houses constitute streets) makes Masule popular for tourists. The Masouleh village has been proposed by Iran for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

The architecture of Masule is described in one sentence: the top roof of the building is a low roof structure. The floors of buildings usually reach two stories.

Masouleh covers an area of .100 hectares under the protection of cultural heritage and natural resources, one of the most charming parts of Iran, attracting tens of thousands of tourists every year. The historical and tourist city of Masouleh is known for its unique architecture in the world. Masouleh with high mountains, forests and lush meadows is one of the most touristic areas of northern Iran, with many natural manifestations, especially in late spring and summer, and the Peak of Teacher Shahs in Masoule with a height of 3.050 m is the highest point of the Gilan province and an attractive place for climbing group. Two hotels in the traditional architecture of Masouleh and several hotels on the road lead to Iranian and foreign tourists. There are also many guest houses and rental houses.
