We rested in Bali from 27.11. 2010 to 12.12. 2010 in Sanur district, Inna Grand Bali Beach hotel. Prior to that, in different years they rested in Bulgaria, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Turkey, Thailand. Everywhere was good, but all this cannot be compared with Bali. The brightest and strongest impressions are made and left by the Balinese themselves. These are small (compact), smiling, very friendly and calm people. They are strongly religious and completely incapable of behaving aggressively and responding with aggression to aggression. One can especially note the highest culture of behavior on the roads. Our compatriots need to learn from them, learn and learn. One significant episode: in a fairly dense stream of cars and motorcycles, a family of Balinese (very often) drives a dad, on a seat arranged behind the wheel, a small (2-2.5 years old) child, behind is a mother, and between mom and father is an older child. A toy falls out of the little one’s hands, and as if on cue, all movement is paralyzed, everyone stands and waits patiently (do not honk, do not shout). A girl comes out of a nearby shop, picks up a fallen toy, walks to the motorcycle and gives it to the owner with a smile, leaves (does not run away) from the roadway, after which traffic resumes calmly. So maybe we saw it. We really liked the resort of Sanur. Before the trip, we read different reviews on the Internet that the beaches are dirty, there are many locals, the tides are unpredictable, the sea is dirty, etc. Probably everyone sees what they want to see. Firstly, the beach is cleaned every morning (under a rake), if there is anything on the coastal strip, then this is what the ocean brought, and secondly, there are very few people on the beach (vacationers), and if the locals go to the beach, then mostly from 5 to 6 in the morning, when vacationers are still sleeping, thirdly, the tides occur clearly on schedule, you just need to want to learn how to use it. About the hotel: chic, huge area, clean, blooming. On the territory of fish, monitor lizards, birds, animals very similar to squirrels, everything blooms and smells sweet. Since we don’t like multi-storey buildings, we initially took a room in a two-story bungalow. The room is spacious, clean, they clean and change everything daily, with high quality. We are only in the room from late evening until early morning, so we pay a lot of attention to the bed, the bed is 2.2 by 2.2 - get tired. Breakfast: there is everything from diet to meat-eater. We have repeatedly observed how a married couple from Russia tried to cram the entire daily diet into their bodies and, most surprisingly, she succeeded. Recommendation - do not be lazy, go to the breakfast cafes in the depths of the cottages, there are no noisy "brothers" of the Chinese, and it is much more pleasant to have breakfast outdoors, especially under the sacred banyan tree. They took a safe at the reception, but they sometimes left money and photo-video in the room, everything remained in place. From the entrance to the main building every 1.5 hours there is a free minibus to the Hardy's supermarket, where you can buy groceries, souvenirs, alcohol, fruits (cheaper than in the local market - checked), extraordinary cheese, grilled chicken, coffee and tea gifts (the best), in particular we recommend green "YAVAN" tea (not bitter at all). A taxi from Hardy's to the hotel costs $2 (you shouldn't agree more) if you don't want to wait for the hotel's minibus. You can talk endlessly about the island itself, its beaches (I liked Dreamlend the most), parks, Temples, lakes, waterfalls and other sights, or write a whole book, but for this you need to be a good writer, otherwise you can ruin everything. And it's better to see everything yourself. We were lucky in this regard, on the first day of our stay we met a local resident named Madii, he privately provides the services of a guide-driver. He speaks quite well in Russian, in English even better. A m Toyota Avanza up to seven people with a driver, the prices for excursions are several times less than Pegasus, and at the same time you do not drive around hotels for half a day to collect and breed all the tourists. Madi's Balinese phone: (from the local SIM card "simPATI") 08.835 5597, his E-mail: balidewatatour@yahoo. com If you have questions on the topic, write to Austenit-Chel@rambler. ru Alexander, Elena.
