Budapest: one beautiful day and a fabulous evening
The beginning of the story and the first 2 days of the route
We had one full day left in Budapest. We arrived in the city late. We got to the hotel according to the standard scheme - subway, then on foot. The first impression of the city was not very pleasant. The sidewalks in the area are dirty, there are few shops. We chose a cheap hotel without breakfast. As a result, our hopes for the best did not come true. They found the address and the door, we were met by a nice guy, saw the keys and led to the room. The apartment was located next door. Complex planning, many corridors and doors. The bed in the room was located on the mezzanine floor (mezzanine, 2nd floor). And it was in this room that we spent the most hours - 2 nights.
Day 3 (first day in Budapest)
First we went to the bathhouse Secheni . Old and very original carriages run along the yellow branch of the metro leading to the Secheni baths.
It is the first metro line in Budapest, opened in 1896.
We planned to spend the first part of the day in the thermal waters, and then move to the center to the largest buildings in the capital and wait for Budapest to shine with evening lights in all its glory. There are few shops in the area of the Secheni baths.
Varoshliget Park , which you planned to visit later. The decoration of the park is the fabulous Vaidahun Castle . built after the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of the discovery of the homeland by the Hungarians (ie the occupation of lands by the Hungarians in the Middle Danube basin) and inaugurated in 1908.
It seems that the castle walls hide secrets and romantic events. But this is just a museum. No one lived in the castle, and centuries-old dust has not yet settled on its baroque facades.

The complex allowed itself to spend no more than 3 hours. It was so hard to get out of the warm water, but I wanted to see so much more.
Next we went to the city center. We got out of the subway and in front of us was the Basilica of St. Stephen (Stephen).
We had lunch at Burger King. During our travels we do not invent with restaurants yet.
Next on the route we entered the spire House >.
How impressive and beautiful it is.
A pleasant surprise on a hot May day was to see "smoke" coming out of the ground in front of the building.
Directly from the pavement near the parliament, water is sprayed periodically during the warm period, and you can run, jump and get wet in the heat.
From the parliament along the embankment went to the Chain Chain strong>.
Crossed across the Danube to another part of the city - I will strong> .
Then we walked up to the Buda Castle . You can climb the funicular. Entrance to the Buda Castle is free. We all walked around, saw the Royal Palace , St. Matthew's Church , and reached the Fisherman's Bastion .
"img alt =" budapest_39.jpg "src =" https://ic. pics. livejournal. com/olha1606/78060663/114814/114814_original.
jpg "/> Very interesting architectural structure that looks like a castle from a Disney cartoon.
The arches and towers of the Fisherman's Bastion merge into a unique architectural composition with a panoramic terrace.
You should stay there until the evening and wait for the moment when the lights, bridges and other buildings are turned on.
"img alt =" budapest_25.jpg "src =" https://ic. pics. livejournal. com/olha1606/78060663/111788/111788_original.jpg "/>" Evening Tale of Europe "is often written. And I agree with them! We took the bus from the bastion to the center. There they found an interesting place on the way, where young people rested, and joined the rest. In one day we only managed to get acquainted with Budapest. And as always, there is still much to see and try. The next morning we returned to Kyiv.
I can summarize my story with the following conclusions.
Vienna I really liked it. Many of my acquaintances have a different opinion. It is said that everything around in the historic center is the same and quickly gets bored.
But it was a pleasure to visit such famous museums and residences. Indeed, you will not get exciting divination, but you will have a pleasant and useful hour in cultural places.
Budapest is a capital city where you can "breathe" and relax. It's not so clean, not so quiet and everything seems much livelier and more natural. It is interesting to visit both cities in one trip.
