Week in Budapest
A trip to the capital of Hungary in November was from the category of spontaneous, I didn’t really want to spend a week of vacation at home, lying on the couch, lately there have already been enough restrictions and prohibitions, so there was an opportunity - you need to go without hesitation. p>
Two hours of flight and we are in Budapest. We got from the airport to the center on the 100E express bus, 30-40 minutes, it goes non-stop, very convenient. We ran into the hotel, left our things, and first took the metro to the center to look for an exchanger to change euros to forints. It should be noted that only 20 euros were changed at the airport, which was enough for the bus and metro, because the exchange rate there is the most expensive.
The metro, as you know, in the capital of Hungary is the oldest on the continent, the M1 branch, it is very interesting to see, all stations are decorated in the old style. We bought a travel pass for a day to move around the city, you can use it on buses and trams. Ticket control is very strong in the metro, I don’t even advise you to try to pass one or two stops with a hare, it will be more expensive for yourself, a fine of about 50 euros, every day we encountered controllers 3-4 times...
As for the city itself, I really liked it, the architecture is CLASS, no worse than Paris, only Budapest is less promoted and greatly underestimated by tourists.
I won’t list all the sights of the city and describe them in detail, it will take too much time, I’ll just say that in 3-4 days it’s quite possible to get around and see everything, and save one more day to visit the Szé chenyi baths, I recommend it, it’s worth it!
Night Budapest with its bridges and the parliament building is something!
At prices. . . Previously, before covid, it was much cheaper, now everything has risen in price and I note that many restaurants have closed, especially not in the center.
I definitely advise you to visit the central market if you are going to buy souvenirs, there is the largest selection in the city and the lowest prices.
There are a lot of tourists from Russia, 70 percent, probably due to the fact that Hungary is one of the few EU countries that recognizes Sputnik.
In general, I recommend it to everyone, if there is an opportunity - visit Budapest!
