Zoo in Nyiregyhaza
When planning a trip to Transcarpathia, I was looking at where to go from Mukachevo, where the main accommodation point was chosen, and my attention was drawn to reviews with photos about a trip to the zoo in Nyiregyhaza (Hungary). The idea to go by public transport was rejected due to the inconvenient train schedule, and there was no desire to stay overnight. As it turned out, many carriers travel from Mukachevo, which can take you in the morning and bring you from Nyiregyhaza in the evening. After monitoring Facebook, my choice was Angelica Klein, who every day takes groups to the zoo and water park, shopping in Nyiregyhaza. We agreed and at the agreed time at the address of us (2 adults and a child) took the bus, the cost back and forth was 350 UAH per person. Distance - about 120 km.
The border was passed not in Chop, but at local checkpoints, there - the checkpoint towards Beregovo behind Gronglab, back - Koson. There were almost no queues (5 cars each), so the border was quickly passed in both directions.
I would like to immediately draw your attention to the fact that there is an exchange office near the entrance to the zoo, I recommend changing some euros for forints, because the exchange rate on the territory of sellers of ice cream and other fast food is not quite adequate and it is unprofitable to pay in euros. We faced a situation when the gift shop informed us that there was no terminal and payment was only possible in cash! The euro was accepted, the change was also given in euro, which was a little pleasing) . I can say for sure that you can pay with a card in a pizzeria, which is located to the right in a straight line from the entrance, near the parrots. They cook delicious food, there is beer.
Entrance to the zoo can be paid by card, in July 2019 prices (forint to hryvnia exchange rate is about 1:10):

There are also discounts for groups of 15 or more people. The ranking is: adults, children, students, pensioners.
The territory of the zoo (about 30 hectares) is divided into continents: Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, America, Antarctica. Description for each type of animal in 6 languages, one of which is Ukrainian!
An electric bus runs around the territory - 500 forints (50 UAH), 20 min. During this time, he makes a survey circle around the zoo.
Those who wish can ride a camel - 1500 forints (150 UAH) per person.
If you are with a child, you can rent a special trolley for children - 1000 forunts (100 UAH) a day, but I do not recommend it, because. The cart is not very convenient to drive and not all trails can be driven with it. If possible, take a stroller for the child, at the same time you can underestimate the age of the child)
In order to get around and see all the animals, 4 hours is quite enough, but you can spend the whole day here, because on the territory you can watch a parrot show for free (a parrot solves logical riddles), a fur seal show (there are a special pavilion where people line up closer to the performance to take the best seats).
The zoo has a wonderful oceanarium where you can walk through the tunnel, and sharks will swim above you!
The monkey forest is open on weekends (Saturday, Sunday), here you will meet lemurs who will go about their business without paying attention to you.
While walking around the zoo, you will definitely pay attention to the tree, which is hung with baby nipples - after visiting the children, they themselves give their nipples to animals and thus refuse them.
The territory is very clean, the animals are well-groomed, on a sunny day the trees create a comfortable temperature for staying. If someone is going to go, they will definitely not regret it!
