Место для души... A place for the soul...

To begin with, we are a family with a child of 8 years old, we traveled abroad for the first time, so there was nothing to compare with. Rest turned out to be absolutely comfortable for everyone. The hotel itself is very pleasant, we had no comments - clean, varied food, polite staff, green area, entertainment (live music in the evenings, aqua aerobics, classes for children, etc. ). Animation in 5 languages, including Russian. Experienced tourists noted that the hotel has no security at all. To be honest, it seemed to me that this was simply not necessary. For families with small children in Istria, one obvious minus is the beach (concrete platform or stones), and the stone bottom, it is not very comfortable for children to swim (my daughter, after she saw the bottom , refused to go into the sea, but for her, in any case, the main thing on vacation was the pool. In Materada there are 2 of them, a small one for children and a large one, both with fresh water). The beaches are municipal, but very clean. There are no other hotels in the immediate vicinity of the hotel (there is a campsite adjoining only on one side).
Regarding the room - in our case, a triple room, not large (they couldn’t find a place for a suitcase), a folding chair for a child, a table with chairs on the balcony, a TV in the room, a spacious wardrobe, a mirror - a necessary minimum. Meals: breakfast and dinner, drinks for dinner (wine, juices), a separate children's menu. Lovely bright restaurant and terrace overlooking the sea.
Lunch was not a problem either, as there are many cafes along the entire coast (some have a menu in Russian, Russian-speaking waiters). Also for us, the indisputable advantage of the hotel is its proximity to the city. 10 minutes walk to the sightseeing train, 5 minutes by train and you are in Poreč (a wonderful town, worth seeing). Our conclusion: for the first trip, Croatia is a wonderful and comfortable holiday destination for a novice tourist. Hotel Materada is a comfortable family hotel.
