Do not visit Riva under any circumstances!
Restaurant and hotel Riva (4 stars) is located in the heart of the waterfront. We were led by the assurances of guides and locals that it had the best service. We can't say anything about the hotel, but the restaurant is terrible. Firstly, we were met by the head waiter and did not even ask if it would be comfortable for us to be next to the Kurts. Our table was surrounded by smoking people. Before we ordered, they brought us pâ té and sliced bread. For a long time trying to understand what is included in the price. Busser (dishwasher) confidently stated that everything is free. The waiter was not sure, he clarified with the manager that the bread is free, and the pate is paid. I had to ask the waiter to ask the manager if it was possible to exclude the pâ té from the bill. A vegetable plate is not the usual cut of fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. These are cooked zucchini, bell peppers and mushrooms. Too much oil, as for grilled. But the most interesting began later. In the main dish, a very long female hair was running all over the dish inside. We noticed it just in time. In 4-star hotels and restaurants with them, in case of a similar incident, if guests do not want a replacement (so that you know, even in the best 5-star hotels, food is not thrown away, but served again either on the same table or on another), then as an apology to them, either forgive the rest of the bill, or offer discounts, VIP places. They didn’t hear anything like that right there and we had to pay even for the fact that we didn’t eat in other dishes brought. We managed to drink tea, coffee, it was about 10-20 kunas. The rest of the dishes were pulled for 300 kunas, of which the dish for 200 kunas was spoiled.
The mood was spoiled. But this was not the end. When we paid, we gave a banknote of 500 kunas. We were supposed to give change of about 370 kunas. Do you know how much they gave? 70 kunas As soon as the waiter was returned, he immediately apologized and took the money out of his pocket. When we called the manager again and told him that the waiter wanted to deceive us, the waiter denied everything. Like all the money was at once, and we are slandering him. The mood deteriorated further nowhere.
