Initially, we were settled in a small "birdhouse" room, without the promised balcony, heated towel rail and without any rope to dry beach things. Everything had to be hung out of windows. We were provided with a balcony on the floor, but besides us, other people also basked there, so we could not hang anything other than towels there.
Saved the situation by the owners of the hotel. At the first request, they promised to change our room to a room with a balcony. And they did it 2 days later, as soon as the tourists left. We got a simple and no frills, but clean and new, as well as a more spacious room with a balcony. The main advantage is picturesque views of Makarska and the sea.
The boarding house has 19 rooms. The rooms are air conditioned and some have a kitchen. We saw 3 rooms, none have refrigerators. No hair dryers. There are rooms with baths, there are rooms with showers. Iron at the reception. The room is cleaned every day. The bed was changed twice in a week. There are disposable soaps and bags of "shampoo-shower gel".
The service was top notch. Very soulful. I have traveled half of Europe, but I have never seen such understanding and hospitality. Maybe it's in the blood of the Croats, or maybe we got a hotel with exceptional service? Thank you very much! It is worth going there not only for the very beautiful views, but also to sit on the veranda next to the olive grove and chat with these wonderful people.
They took breakfast and dinner. I do not advise you to take a full board - think that at 13.00 in 35-degree heat you will have to climb this Hoverla. Breakfasts were standard European: eggs, cereal, sausage, cheese, ham, tomatoes, jams, butter, tea and coffee and delicious bread. If necessary, you can always take sandwiches to the beach, no complaints.
For dinner, the first, second, salad and dessert were served. And all in huge portions. We just couldn't handle it. Always 1 liter of ice water. The second could always be chosen in advance from three options. Usually they offered something from seafood and something with meat. In Croatia, in particular, this hotel prepares delicious mashed soups. The second was always served salads of cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes. From the side dish we ate: spaghetti, with seafood (squid, shrimp, crab meat, mussels), dorado, mackerel, goulash, chicken dishes, stuffed paprika, risotto, etc. Desserts were served to us in the form of ice cream, watermelon, pancakes, apples. Drinks, except water for dinner, in the boarding house, as well as throughout Croatia, are paid.
You can safely leave all your precious things in the rooms. Nobody will take anything. I left my phone, camera and jewelry in the most prominent places. And she took everything with her without any loss.
All infrastructure begins after the descent from the mountain. If you go down, turn right and walk 100 m, you can overstock at the Konzum supermarket (located near the bus station). We preferred Tommy supermarket which is closer to the beach. They have good prices and a wide selection.
To sum it up, I was once again convinced that the main thing is not where the hotel is located, the main thing is the people who work in it. We will be back again, but only in a room with a balcony.
This hotel is a great option for people who are able to climb a mountain, or rent some kind of transport. And not a very good option for tourists with small children - too far away.
