The advantages of this NEW hotel include a convenient location: a bus stop plying to the old town, shops and a variety of shops are in close proximity to the hotel, the beach is also close (about the shortcomings of the beach itself separately). The staff is courteous, pleasant in communication, but in a language other than Russian, for example, in English, as well as German, Italian, French. In general, it seemed to me that nothing was provided for Russian tourists in Dubrovnik, and our fellow citizens were not enough there either. True, it is worth noting the benevolence of the hotel director, who spends the whole evening in the restaurant hall, tasting wines together with the guests, giving recommendations, and communicates with pleasure with the hotel guests, including Russians, trying to speak our native language (since the time of Yugoslavia Croats all know a little Russian). By the way, during our stay at this hotel in July 2004, Mr. Director turned on ORT (in other hotels only foreign channels broadcast and the most accessible for us Russians, in the sense of understanding - BBC), and also gave us a promise to train the staff to communicate on Russian, after which the waiters in the last days took orders and greeted us exclusively in Russian. Only the front desk staff remained adamant so far.
The cuisine of the hotel is not as diverse as we spoiled Russian tourists are used to seeing in decent Turkish hotels, but, in my opinion, it does not deserve significant comments. All in all, this small hotel is cosy, clean, new, perfect for a romantic getaway.
The biggest drawback is the lack of the hotel's own beach. Guests from 3-4 nearby hotels and local residents go to the beach close to the hotel, respectively, during the most favorable hours for sunbathing and swimming, the beach is quite crowded, noisy and not really fun. Some tourists who lived in a room with a jacuzzi noted that the water flow in the bathroom was ill-conceived.
