I had room 243, there was obviously a repair, windows to the floor, plastic. Quiet room overlooking the inner green courtyard and side sea view. Trees were planted in the courtyard, there are paths, but no one was visible in it during the entire time of our stay. The beds are moved apart (wheels), the mattress is soft, the pillows with holofiber are soft and comfortable.

On the balcony there is a clothes dryer and a plastic table with chairs. Night light works properly, you can read, there is a refrigerator with a minibar, a safe. The closet is large with good hangers. Large bathroom with large mirror, bathtub and shower, WC, hair dryer.
The pool is small, there is an area for kids - there are practically no people in them, the sea is nearby! On the sun loungers near the pool you can sunbathe, taking a towel near the pool, you can safely go outside the hotel with it, you can not carry your beach towel.
Dinners (from 19 hours to 21.30) liked. There is meat (pork, beef, chicken), fish - they are fried right in front of you. Ready-made hot: goulash, roll, tongue. There are fresh herbs; boiled - frozen (broccoli, cauliflower, etc. ). Side dishes: potatoes and rice. Pasta and risotto, pizza. Grilled vegetables. There were cabbage rolls, casseroles, croquettes - it changes every day. There are seafood. On Friday, the Croatian day - the choice of seafood is wider (even mussels), the orchestra of Croatian national music plays in the restaurant.
There is a wide variety of fruits, every evening a watermelon - you can not take paid (for dinner) drinks: from water to alcohol. Although water can be drunk from the tap, it is checked.
There are several beaches in the area: the closest one is in the President Hotel: large pebbles, a narrow beach, the depth is immediately about 2 meters from the shore. There is an area with and without sunbeds, changing rooms, showers. On the site without sunbeds, mostly locals rest. Many teenagers frolic, jumping into the water from rocky areas, there is a platform. Passage is possible through the reception of the hotel "President" - you need to wait for the guest with a card, because. the doors to the beach with a combination lock or you can freely walk to the left of the hotel in the area of the Neptun hotel along an asphalt road, a gate is open at the gate.
The second beach, which is considered the best in Dubrovnik, is Copacabana: a relatively wide beach, small pebbles, sunbeds and without them, restaurants with ice cream and drinks, a free decent toilet, changing rooms. The entrance to the water is gentle.
The next beach "Cava" is located between Copacabana and the President. It is more “wild”: large pebbles, boulders, few people, a sharp entry into the sea, the water area is fenced, but small. You can go down to it from the gravel path along the high steps. No children. Toilet. No infrastructure. It smoothly turns into a nudist beach, which begins right here, behind the boulders.
I once went on an excursion from the Ascent-travel company (the excursion was not theirs, but Atlas, but I bought from a representative of the company with which I came) - I went to Mljet, when ordering, the woman called the organizer of the trip to clarify whether the excursion would take place, and from the conversation the impression crept in that on the other side they said that there were problems with the Russian guide. I asked Irina if there would be a Russian guide for sure, she said "for sure", took 70 euros. There was no Russian guide, they said that she allegedly fell ill, so I was transferred to the English group. In general, there is nothing terrible, of course, it’s just unpleasant that they deceived. I didn’t buy any more excursions at the hotel, I took everything in a neighboring company 2 times cheaper, the only “but” is excursions in English. For those who are not afraid of English, and the presence of Russian is not the main thing, I will tell you what advantages you get for less money.
On the walking area near the hotel, I found 2 travel agencies - "Gulliver" and "Lege Navalis", in Dubrovnik I visited the companies "Atlas" and "Compass" for interest, but the prices there are terribly expensive, so I won't even compare. The "Gulliver travel" office is open only in the morning 08-11.00 and in the evening 20.00-21.30, a very talkative, pleasant woman answers all questions, colorfully telling how beautiful it is everywhere : ) But at prices, unfortunately, it turned out a little more expensive than in a neighboring company, therefore I didn't buy a tour here. I really liked the organization of excursions in "Lege Navalis". The office is located at the very end of the shopping street, or if you leave the restaurant of the Argozi hotel, it will be right next to it. 2 girls alternate at the reception, I mostly hit Paula, also a very nice girl with excellent English - not very difficult and not very fast : ) The office is open all day from 08:00 to 21:00. All excursions take place in small buses for 5-7 seats, which is very convenient, since you don’t have to wait long for people from excursions, and in the morning in the evening the bus doesn’t take you long along the coast, as a rule, all 5-7 people are guests from Valamarov hotels . Therefore, all time excursions are faster, only at the expense of a small group, and not at the expense of free time. There are following excursions:
Montenegro (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) - 315kn. Duration 08-18.00, in Budva and Kotor 2 hours of free time. All information is told by the driver on the way in English.
Elaphite Islands (every day) 10-18.00 - 180kn, lunch on the ship. The only "but" - you need to clarify what kind of ship it will be - if it is large, then it does not enter Lopud from the Shun beach, so you will have to get to it on foot (30 minutes on foot in the heat) or by electric car.
Mostar - 315kn
Pelješ ac peninsula, Korcula island (on the island 3 hours) - 350 kunas. Time 08-18.00
night cruise - 150kn
I got on 2 drivers - everything that I did not understand in English, they were ready to repeat in Croatian, something cleared up, I read something in my guidebook.
From independent trips, I went to the wall of Dubrovnik - 70 kn, a boat trip to Lokrum Island and back - 50 kn, to Cavtat and back on a boat - 80 kn, a lift to the observation deck and back - 80 kn, only ascent - 50 kn.
At the Pile gate they offer kayak excursions - 230, but those that offer where you get off bus number 6 offer a 10% discount, and then another, in general, the trip cost me 200 kn, departure at 09:00.14:00 and 17:00, come in 15 minutes. I liked it - not a stressful interesting walk. Because I went alone, and after 15 minutes I got tired of rowing, then they picked me up to a motorboat and pulled me up to the main group, so no one would be left on the high seas : )
You can get to Dubrovnik by bus number 6, a ticket from the driver costs 12 kunas, so it is better to buy in advance at the hotel - 10 kunas. If you fit within 1 hour, then you can compost the same ticket back without buying a new one.
On the beach of the President you can rent a mask and snorkel - 1 day costs 50 kn.
I did a massage in the spa of the President Hotel, I liked it - whole body massage 340 kn (60 minutes), hot-stone massage - 400 kn (60 minutes), face massage with mask - 250 kn (50 minutes).
Any questions - happy to answer!
Great hotel, I recommend!

Hello everybody! We rested for two weeks in South Dalmatia in Dubrovnik (Babin Kuk district). We lived in a cozy hotel "Argosy". It has a good location - it is surrounded on three sides by the sea and stands on a hill. We had a beautiful room on the 4th floor overlooking the garden with wonderful orange and olive trees and a bit of the sea. As for the hotel, I will say that everything has its pros and cons. Pluses - the hotel was recently reconstructed, the rooms are equipped with everything you need, there is a free safe, as well as the Russian RTR channel; the food was delicious - for breakfast and dinner there was always something to profit from. Certainly no one left hungry. Drinks were paid, but it's not a problem. The hotel staff is very friendly and always willing to help with any issues. On the beach of the hotel "President" (it is located next door) we had every right to walk whenever we want. There, half of the beach is pebbly, and there are also descents into the water at great depths and not very much. Now cons - the animation is weak. Every evening there were concerts in the courtyard, but it was all monotonous. As for the beach next to "Argosy", it's hard to call it a beach either. Unfortunately, one name - unkempt, rubbish lying around, rough pebbles and nasty sharp stones. Therefore, as I already wrote, we almost all the time went to the beach of the neighboring hotel "President". But these two significant nuances did not spoil the impression of the hotel.
Now about excursions. We took four: a sightseeing tour of Dubrovnik (then we ourselves went to it twice more, especially since the bus stop is very close), Lokrum Island, which is a 15-minute boat ride from the mainland, Korcula Island - the birthplace of Marco Polo and medieval the city of Ston, as well as three islands of the Elafite archipelago - Shipan, Kolochep and Lopud. We went on the boat "Dolores". I liked everything very much. Nature and crystal clear sea as always on top. And the living creatures in the Adriatic Sea are quite funny - both red (on Lokrum island) and black (on Kolochep island) sea urchins, and starfish, and fish, and octopuses. On about. Korcula and the boat "Dolores" had lunch and tasting of various wines. I really liked the white ones - Ragusha, Grashevina, Poship, Kashtelet. Of the red ones - Black Ragusha, Plavac (Bartul). We tried it during an excursion to about. Korcula, more precisely already on the Peljesac peninsula. I liked the dry pink too. We bought small bottles in stores to sample and chose those that we liked. Please ask questions. I will answer with pleasure.

Rest from 5 to 12 June. There are a couple of reviews about this hotel on the Internet, but I know from my own experience that when you are preparing for a trip, I really want to find not one, but several opinions on the Internet in order to put together an approximate picture of the upcoming vacation. The hotel has rooms with a recent fairly high-quality renovation and new furniture, and rooms in which repairs were made a very long time ago, there are also rooms with a large loggia and rooms in which there are simply windows "on the floor", but there are no balconies.

Therefore, when you book this hotel, be sure to ask the travel agency in the application to indicate the presence of repairs and balconies. My travel agency offered me a guaranteed sea view, if I remember correctly for an additional 60 or 80 euros, but I thought that the view of the garden was quite good, and I did not regret it, the room was overlooking the courtyard, with an abundance of flowers and tangerine trees. There, in the evenings, concerts of chamber orchestras were held in the courtyard. it was very pleasant in the evenings sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine to listen to popular melodies performed by violin, cello and double bass. there were concerts with a different set of musical instruments. Attached is a photo of the courtyard. The hotel does not have its own beach, there are public beaches Cava beach and Capacabana beach nearby. But the concept of a hotel beach here also does not mean that only hotel guests will be on the beach. Basically, we went to the beach to the nearby hotel Prezedent 4 stars (we liked it the most). So, even though the hotel is fenced, all the gates are open and not only guests of the Valamar hotels, but also local residents go to the beach. This did not bother me at all, although I do not like crowded beaches, on the contrary, it seemed to me right, a manifestation of respect for my own fellow citizens. Croats own all these beauties and they have the right to relax where they want. Croats are a calm, not noisy and friendly people. There was a lot of noise only from the gangs of Croatian schoolchildren, who frolicked quite loudly. I noticed that free access to their own beaches of hotels exists not only in the Valamar network, hotels located nearby Neptun and others also do not interfere with free entry. Maybe that's how it should be? The sea during the week of our stay was always crystal clear, both in storm and in calm weather. You can choose the entrance to the sea to your taste: there are small sections of platforms with a descent down the stairs, and there are sections of a pebble beach, we felt quite normal even without rubber boots, realizing that foot massage is very good for health. In general, in early June, the beaches were not crowded, the sea was already quite warm 21-24 degrees, the air temperature was 27-28 in the shade. I did not regret that I chose June for my trip to Croatia. But for people who love the sea with the temperature of fresh milk, this is not the time to go. The only disadvantage of such an early trip is that not all excursions are carried out. I wanted to go to the island of Mljet, but the guide said that the catamarans were broken, but I think this refusal was due to the lack of a large number of Russian-speaking people. There were only 3 Russian speaking families in our hotel. For those who speak English, German or French well, this will not be a problem, since there is an office of a local tube bureau near the hotel where you can book any excursion, but with guides who speak these languages. We went on an excursion called "DOlores" - a trip on the boat of the same name around the Elven Islands with swimming in the sea, swimming in the grotto of one of the islands, and landing on an island with a sandy beach and a national lunch. We liked! We went to the Old Town of Dubrovnik on our own, we did not take a tour. We got on bus number 6 near the President Hotel, and after 15 minutes. have been to the old city. Yes, I almost forgot to write. Be sure to take a walk along the coast of Babin Kuk opposite from Argosi. Pass by the President Hotel, then the Neptun Hotel, and there is a path down to the sea, go down and walk along the sea. The beauty there is amazing! you will walk, then go out onto the pedestrian street and after passing it you will find yourself next to the OPTbank bank (you can exchange currency) and at the bus stop number 6. This is the third stop from the Argosy hotel towards the old city. In total, this walk at a leisurely pace will take you 30-40 minutes. Now about nutrition. One of the evenings, I decided to count how many 2nd course options were offered and counted 7: stewed chicken with gravy, Pork ribs, beef tongue in tomato cream sauce, baked beef, lamb (very tasty), grilled fish, squid with octopuses. Judge for yourself, in my opinion for every taste. About salads and not to mention their choice was also decent. The only thing that they do not know how to cook in this hotel is desserts (cakes and cakes), they are terrible, tasteless. But for me it was +, because the blow to the figure was already inflicted. But the lack of delicious cakes replaced the presence of 5 types of different ice cream. All drinks for dinner are paid, we took a bottle of water every evening for a child (10 kunas), for adults a glass of wine price range (20-60 kunas per glass), beer, in my opinion, 25 kunas a glass. The main points of the rest seem to have been illuminated, there will be questions, write

The hotel does not have its own beach, there is a small-pebble beach Copocabana nearby, which is very popular with of the local population and the beach of the President Hotel. But, this hotel has a funny system: the entrance to the beach runs through the hotel itself, the entrance is free, go down the elevator, open the door and you are on the beach of the President Hotel, but it’s already more difficult to get out. cards from the rooms and those who do not have them, you have to wait until someone opens this ill-fated door for you. The sea is perfectly clean everywhere, there are a lot of sea urchins, so it's better to buy special shoes right away.
The hotel itself: the rooms have air conditioning, satellite TV with a Russian channel, mini-bar, bathroom with shower and toilet. The hotel is quiet, cozy, there are a lot of foreigners, there are no Russians, all Russians in the President Hotel, there is no animation (and very good! ), So it’s hardly suitable for families with children. The hotel is mainly for the elderly, but who is looking for a relaxing holiday - you are here. Every evening the hotel has a live music program from 19:00-23:00. Very polite and unobtrusive staff. No one breaks in at 7 in the morning shouting about cleaning the room, as, for example, in the same Egypt. Cleaned every day, towels are changed daily, bed linen every three days.
Meals: breakfast from 7-10 am, continental, every day the same, all products are fresh. Dinner is different every day, every week - evenings of Croatian cuisine.
In general, the hotel is designed for people looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday, if you are one of those, then Argosy is the perfect place.
