BEAUTIFUL CROATIA BORN FROM TEARS, STARS AND THE BREATH OF THE SEA!
Part 6, final.
Memories of Croatia are pleasant, we will be happy to return there again, as I already wrote.
We still have literally 2 days left in Dubrovnik, during which we enjoyed the sea and the city.
On the last day, in the late afternoon, the owner made us a pleasant surprise: somewhere around 3 o'clock he drove us around the city and showed us various beautiful places.
We were at different viewing platforms, from where a beautiful panorama of the old city and the whole of Dubrovnik opens up. And also we were on Mount Srj, we did not climb special panoramic terraces, we were where there is a large stone cross made of white stone. We admired the beautiful panorama of the city and the sea... only here we saw the cable car. If I had known about this earlier, I would never have missed the opportunity to climb this mountain by cable car. The second half of the day was cloudy, clouds hung over the city... the last evening in Dubrovnik, the weather does not please us... After that, we went to the port area. The sky is gloomy, overcast, it started to rain. . . And on the last observation deck, we watched the cruise liner set off, turn around and go to sea. The spectacle is extraordinary, and even more so from above, simply beyond words.
When we returned to the apartment, the rain subsided, we decided for the last time to take a walk along the pedestrian zone that we loved so much, sit somewhere in a cafe... Souvenirs-gifts were bought, it remains only to say goodbye to the hospitable owners and pack our bags. Cruising around the country, we did not notice how 2 weeks came to an end. It was a little pity, we had not rested yet and had not seen much yet. . .
We left early, at half past seven in the morning, we did not use the navigator to the Bosnian border, we turned it on later. We drove along the familiar beautiful road, admiring the magnificent panorama of the coast...
We pass through the mountains and find ourselves in the valley of the Neretva River. We skip the first parking lot, from where the most beautiful views open, we stop at the next one, but this is not the same, because it is much lower. Memories will now remain only in memory. Well, then, we already know tents with fruits and vegetables. I just couldn't stop there. Especially, of course, we liked peaches: big, juicy. . . in Germany, too, all this is available and cheap. . . but it's all imported and not so tasty. And tangerine juice! I don't really like it, it's a bit bitter for my taste. When we were offered to try, at first I refused: why have I never drunk tangerine juice or what? And as it turned out, she didn’t drink like that. Amazingly delicious, amazingly sweet. Maybe add sugar to it? Well, anyway, I liked it here. Then I tried wine or tangerine tincture (it was impossible for the rest - while driving), also with an unusual taste. We bought in full: the trunk is full, in the back seat there is only room for one person, vegetables and fruits are all around, bottles of juice... wine. By the way, we brought everything very well: neither tomatoes, nor peaches, nothing was wrinkled.
And here we are driving, driving, driving. . . and we find ourselves on an empty autobahn. There is a gap in the navigator, he does not see this section of the path, probably, it was built after we updated it. There are no cars, no one is around. Then some road went, which again began to fork, we decided not to go to the right, we thought that it would lead us again to the mountains. Turned left. The navigator sees it, leads us along it, but we also go - then only we are on it. I must say we are going down in the valley, we drive into some village and drive along it for a long time, about 30 minutes. The street is narrow, the houses are somehow close to the road. People sit on the sidewalks, and it feels like on the roadway. Children play football, others stand in groups, talk, when they see us, part, let them in, look after us for a long time... Well, of course, again they turned somewhere in the wrong place. The village ends, the road goes up a little and suddenly we find ourselves on a freeway, which then leads to the autobahn.
As usual, there are few stops, one of them is where the Krka River is. Everything is expensive in the kiosk, postcards are almost 4 times more expensive. A little rest and more. Part of the way we drove along the same autobahn as from Rovinj to Dubrovnik. I thought that we would also go along the same path as we traveled from Plitvice to Rovinj, I really liked this road. But no, we didn’t get there, we drove somehow differently. And what is most interesting, after the border, in Slovenia, the navigator immediately took us to the autobahn, no country roads.
In Austria, it rained constantly on us and it was generally cool. We stop for a bite to eat, get out of the car, oh my god, it's cold! We are in shorts, in T-shirts, we are still in euphoria from sunny Croatia, and here people are in jackets, windbreakers, long trousers... We were a little lucky with Germany, there was still sun on some part of the path, and then everything was the same always rain. According to the navigator, we should have arrived at the house at 10:00 pm, we met, even arrived 15 minutes earlier. And what contrasts: we drive into the city, it is gloomy, but not yet dark, there are high-rise buildings (5-6-story) and cars all around, there is no one on the street, not a single passer-by, no walking around, as if the city of ghosts.
And it immediately became clear that the wonderful vacation was over, long live everyday life!
