Crystal clear sea, amazing nature, interesting architecture - this is Croatia
Premantura is the southernmost point of the Istrian peninsula. We did not reach the very southernmost point - Cape Kamenyak, and this was not the goal, we just wanted to make a sightseeing tour of this place and relax on the sea.
The coast is very rocky, as almost everywhere in Croatia, and pine trees grow along the entire coast. Of course, you need to come here with your own “equipment” (inflatable mattresses, folding chairs, etc. ), because there are naturally no equipped beaches here. But there are also few tourists. You can go a little deeper under the pines and take a nap, enjoying the smell of the sea and pines. It is very comfortable to doze there, because there are no mosquitoes and no other annoying buzzing insects. We spent a wonderful day there.
On the way to Rovinj, we stopped to have a bite to eat in some kind of konoba, unfortunately the names are not clear on the receipt. We had a delicious dinner, we must pay tribute to the Croats, we liked almost all of their dishes and their portions are very large.
We always took 2 second courses for three, despite the fact that we are not little ones. And there was no queue for dessert. We must also pay tribute to the "flexible" payment, if there is not enough cash kunas (local currency: kunas), then you can pay in euros. We all liked this konoba, except for one thing: an extra fanta, cola and beer were driven into the check. To the question: we did not order this, the answer was simple: now we will deduct this from the total amount. Well, such an incident happened to us only 1 time during our entire trip.
We only have 2 days left to enjoy Rovinj. And since we have not yet explored all the beaches, it was decided to enjoy the sea during this remaining time.
Yes, I didn’t have to travel around the cities and towns, but in principle I knew that I wouldn’t succeed, because we usually choose the time for sightseeing tours in late autumn or mid-spring: when it’s not hot, when you can calmly, slowly, inspect the cathedrals, and so on, and not be torn between the sea and architectural monuments. So it happened with Croatia, but how many picturesque places we saw ...
Now we went to the Cape Kurent beach, the usual beach for Rovinj, there were no waves, so there was not much enthusiasm either. There is almost no housing near the sea in Rovinj, not counting the old town, because a chic pine park stretches along the entire coast. And the park is really good, there is where to turn around "both on horseback and on foot. "
Last evening in Rovinj, once again we went up to the Cathedral of St. Euphemia, once again admired the opening views of the sea, once again photographed everything. .
It should be noted that we were very lucky with the weather, it rained on many people there or it was cool ...Everything was very wonderful for us. It is hot during the day, very comfortable in the evening: no heat, no stuffiness, no humidity ...like in Mallorca in September. Every evening before going to bed we made sure to sit on our balcony overlooking the inner part of the garden. It was always quiet and semi-dark here, only rare lanterns illuminated some of the houses. Here is a house not far away on the left, there is never a light on the 2nd floor, and the owners almost always come home after midnight. And in those two houses on the right, no one lives on the 2nd floor either ...silence ...and only the cry of seagulls breaks this silence. Speaking of seagulls! They fly over the city day and night, and scream so piercingly, especially at dawn, it feels like they are sitting on our balcony. Are they seagulls or what other birds?
We liked Rovinj, just a week is enough to get acquainted with the city and its environs.
Who will have the opportunity to get to Istria, do not miss the opportunity to get acquainted with this lovely town!
