IN SEARCH OF THE BEAUTIFUL
Croatia, as a country for summer holidays, has not yet been considered by us, and none of our friends have rested there, no one has shared their impressions live. However, we did not get there by accident.
Once upon a time, in the early 90s, while still living in Saratov, I saw some piece of a program about the amazing beauty of the lake. I didn’t see the beginning of the program, I couldn’t watch it to the end, I didn’t know where it was, in what country and what this place was called. That was all, except for the desire to visit these magnificent places someday. But 2 years ago, here on this site turpravda. com , while preparing for a trip to another country, on the main page I saw pictures that were once familiar to me ...Well, then, it's a matter of technology, and all the information is at a glance. Then we did not change our plans, but Croatia was definitely planned for the summer of 2011, and the main highlight was, of course, the Plitvice Lakes.
It was not so important for us where to swim in the sea, we had already rested on the Adriatic more than once in Italy, the most important thing was to see the lakes. I was prompted by the Croatian forum, and questions and answers began ...
Everything started according to the plan-schedule, on Saturday morning we left the house, we drove through Germany quickly: no tunnels, no toll roads, and most importantly, there are no trucks, they are parked from 12 am on Friday until 12 am Sunday, autobahns free from them. In Austria, we drove for a long time, constantly speed limits, cameras stuck everywhere ...but nature! We passed through Slovenia very quickly, the navigator led us along some country roads, from village to village, passing one into another, and we were already on the border and further to the lakes. For 9-10 km to the lakes began to look after housing. There were no problems to find.
We turned left, stopped at a house we liked with a garden of roses, we were immediately shown the apartment, nothing special, quite suitable for 2 nights. Then, having arrived in Rovinj, we realized that we didn’t need the second night, we could easily reach Rovinj after the lakes. But we will find out later, but for now we are still housed in the house. All my thoughts were in vain, where to spend the night on the road? We were already there at 5 pm. Then a review of the surroundings, it is necessary to try the Croatian cuisine. We liked the restaurant Mirjana & Rastoke, quite large, there were a lot of people, and a tour. The groups were there, so the order had to wait a long time. We ordered different dishes to try as many as possible, and of course, lamb-mutton. The service was interesting: the soup was brought to us all at the same time, but then first they brought veal to my husband, we sit waiting: well, they’ll bring us just about ....it was “just about” it was about 40 minutes.
Later, we warned the waiters to bring dishes to us all at the same time, and in some places they asked: how would we like it, as it was cooked or all together?
We waited for our lamb and ...we didn’t eat it ...such a strong smell ...I’ll make a little explanation: for the first 15 years of my life I lived in an ordinary Russian village with a full yard of all kinds of cattle, and I’m used to lamb. She taught both her husband and son, because the meat is delicious. But what they gave us, I don’t know, maybe it’s some kind of peculiar lambs, I don’t know ...We ordered the mushroom puree soup again, it was excellent! The waiter, of course, was very surprised, asked why we didn’t like it, but what should he say so as not to offend? They just shook their heads.
In general, I want to say that we didn’t always like everything from food, and I think that this is normal, everyone has different tastes. When I read the reviews of others, where I like everything from A to Z, I think that this is cunning.
The first day in Croatia was coming to an end, the most important thing was ahead: the long-awaited Plitvice.
Today we will visit one of the most beautiful natural phenomena - Plitvice Lakes National Park!
It was raining in the morning, but it didn't stop us for a minute. Now, having little experience, I advise you to wear summer semi-sneakers with thick soles there, no matter what the weather. The road goes along earthen paths, where in open shoes you can easily hurt your feet on stones, branches, tree roots ...We had everything with us: light jackets, sneakers, umbrellas ...and a ready travel route.
The rain did not stop, we bought raincoats and went to the pier. Many fish swam in the clear water. Beauties! Left, right, wherever you look, everything around pleases the eye. Having crossed a short section, we sailed on another boat on the lake: light rain, cloudy, cold wind ...but nothing could spoil the mood.
By the way, no one has checked our tickets anywhere yet, maybe because we got from some kind of tour. group? Then we went up to a large waterfall. We photographed literally everything, I wanted to somehow capture all this magnificence of nature!
The rain gradually began to subside, if it’s so beautiful here in rainy weather, then how does it all shimmer and sparkle in sunny weather?
Did I think that my dream would come true? That I can see all this with my own eyes?
This is one of those places when they say: it's better to see once than hear 100 times! Almost everywhere I wanted to stay longer to look at some plants, herbs ...and just everything around. The day was drawing to a close, but no one stuttered about fatigue.
You can't help but be touched by such beauty!
We returned to the pier again, somehow we did not want to go in wagons and again swam across the large lake. This time they checked our tickets and stamped them.
Now I have the next dream, to return here in the fall, my favorite time of the year.
We returned home from the park, not too early, not too late, and went, of course, to Slun. And it's bright and sunny there...And what an amazing town, how many waterfalls, literally standing on the water.
We walk, relax, enjoy what we see, take pictures. Late in the evening we return to the apartment, the next day we will have an unknown and, as it seemed to me then, a difficult road to Rovinj.
