Seven reasons to go on a sailing vacation
When vacation time comes, we habitually begin to puzzle over one very important question: where to go this time? Which of the proposals that are littered with the tourist market today should you choose? How to combine all the incompatible things that we want to get from our vacation and fill it with adventures, impressions, events - for a reasonable price?
Yachting has taken quite a strong position in people's minds somewhere between the lines of "expensive" and "fabulously expensive" - and this is one of the most important misconceptions today. A trip on a yacht will not cost much more than a week in a good five-star hotel, but it can give you dozens of times more impressions and emotions - although, how can emotions be measured by numbers?...
Yacht. . . Vacation on a yacht. . . Why? Why not choose the usual option with a hotel - so familiar and so understandable? Why go into the unknown without knowing in advance and not imagining what awaits you? From our extensive yachting experience, we have identified seven main reasons why a yacht trip is better, brighter, more interesting for us - and, in principle, cannot even be compared with a hotel vacation. Perhaps these reasons will be significant for you as well. So:
Reason one. Rest on a yacht gives us incomparable freedom, it is diverse and full of events.
We are not tied to a single point on the map, to which we must return every evening to sleep. Actually no, it's not. We are attached to this point - but this point can move depending on our desires. Have you ever thought about what tiny part of the country where you rest, you actually saw? Very often, this is generally only the territory of the hotel and several adjacent residential areas. But each country is amazing and original, it has such a huge number of interesting corners! Traveling on a yacht, we can see it, if not all of it (which is quite natural), but a much larger part of it. Just imagine - the Seychelles or the Maldives. How many corners of paradise are hidden there from tourist eyes simply because it is impossible to reach them except by sea? . .
The freedom that gives a rest on a yacht is, first of all, an opportunity to choose. You decide where and how to spend each new day, where to stay longer and walk around the city streets to your heart’s content, and where to get out only after replenishing fresh water; where to anchor to swim, and where to fly under full sail. You are the owners of your own recreation, its designers, you mold it exclusively for yourself and for yourself. There are no two identical trips on a yacht - even going twice or thrice along the same route, you will see a new country each time, and each time this trip will be filled with new colors and impressions for you.
The second reason. Rest on a yacht is an activity in its purest form.
Think back to your traditional hotel vacation schedule. In the morning breakfast is usually a buffet. After breakfast - the beach: sun loungers, beer, cocktails, lazy doing nothing. Then - lunch and afternoon rest. And in the evening everything is repeated. Eating, sleeping and lying on the beach. Lying on the beach, sleeping and eating. The maximum activity is evening discos and occasional excursions. PERIODIC. When it becomes unbearable to sit on the beach.
Traveling on a yacht is a fundamentally different approach to relaxation. Surprising but true: you are on the same sea (no, not like that - you are IN THE SEA, real yachtsmen say so), you sunbathe, swim, you come back chocolate - but with all this you are constantly active! The yacht does not sail on its own, the yacht needs human assistance. To raise or remove sails, to moor in a marina or leave it, to change tack, to drop anchor, in the end - everywhere, absolutely everywhere, your activity, your movement is needed. The captain commands: “To turn” - and inside you everything freezes in anticipation - you know for sure that now real life will boil on board: sails will flap, sailors will run, winches will spin and further sonorous commands will sound. Everything is like adults! : )
Reason three. Rest on a yacht is an opportunity to plunge headlong into the real nature, not spoiled by civilization.
And again we recall the hotel vacation - mind you, we don’t want to say at all that it is bad, but somehow it turns out that in this matter the comparison will again turn out to be not in its favor.
First of all, when you arrive at the hotel, you do not have the opportunity to choose the beach. You use the one that is at your disposal - you, and another hundred or two tourists living next to you... In fact, I don’t really want to delve into this topic - but we all know how sometimes (not always, and thank you God! ) there are beaches in places where tourists gather... While relaxing on a yacht, you choose your own beach. Anyone is yours. The wildest, the most beautiful, the most well-groomed. Even the open sea is also your beach! And it’s hard to come up with a cleaner and better one...
And also a trip on a yacht is a great opportunity to see the real, wild nature of the country in which you are relaxing. Not cultivated even lawns and bushes of hotels - but tall forests, rocks, fields, maybe even jungle : ) Places that people have not touched - there are very few of them left and that is why they are truly valuable!
Reason four. Rest on a yacht is an immersion in your childhood dreams of sea adventures!
As one remarkable person who once traveled with us said on the way to the yacht: "We are going to rob caravans, kidnap princesses, save dragons, destroy castles, hunt whales, get pearls and something else! " : ) A complete set of slightly hooligan boyish dreams, living in the soul of each of us, modestly hiding behind strict business suits…
Of course, we will not rob anyone at sea - but we will loudly shout the cherished "Board! " you can do it without a twinge of conscience. . . : ) And if we go on several yachts, and the weather allows, then. . . Do you know what a tomato battle is? Do not know???!! ! Believe me, you have lost a lot! : )
Night crossings and moorings. Luminous wake behind the stern. Uninhabited islands. Anchorages in quiet deserted bays. Flocks of dolphins accompanying the yacht. Swimming in the open ocean. Strengthening the wind. Short, clear commands. (Team to put on harnesses and life jackets! Ten to the right! Take the second reef)! Speed at 13 knots. Roll at 45 degrees. Wet steering wheel in hand. Salt spray in the face. And real, undisguised emotions...
In any case, a decent (or, rather, even indecent ; ) ) dose of adrenaline in the blood during a yacht trip is guaranteed to you! And if the previous three reasons can still cause some doubts about the exceptional attractiveness of a yacht vacation, then this one is absolutely undeniable. If you dream of real adventures, then yachting is your choice!
Reason five. In terms of cognition and scope of what he saw, rest on a yacht has practically no equal.
Every day - a new city, a new island, a new piece of this world... What else, if not yachting, will allow you to talk with the confidence of a connoisseur about which of the cities on the coast of Croatia, for example, has the most delicious coffee, where is the best wine in Greece, and which of the Seychelles has the most smiling inhabitants. You can see the main attractions of five or six (or even more) cities in just one short week-long vacation - and all this without the forced discomfort of sightseeing buses, which, whatever one may say, deprive you of many hours of well-deserved rest...
After traveling on a yacht, it is safe to say that you really saw the country you visited. You know what she is. You felt it from the inside, you talked to it as if it were a living organism, and you will always remember the feelings that it evoked in you.
Reason six. Holidays on a yacht - it's damn romantic!
It is almost impossible to describe in words all the beauty of sea sunsets, all the delight that is born in you when salt spray, crumbling under the sun, hits your skin! That childish joy that breaks out with joyful laughter, when dolphins jump out of the water at the very bow of the yacht, showing off their bright bellies in front of you...
This picture is forever imprinted in the memory of everyone who at least once had the good fortune to be on a yacht: the bright orange sun is slowly setting over the horizon, you are standing holding the mast with your hand, sails filled with wind are above your head, a fresh sea wind beats in your face , behind your back laughter and unhurried conversations, ahead - the endless expanse of the sea... And you want to shout, like the protagonist of one very famous film: "I am the king of the world! "
Reason seven. Do you remember all the previous reasons? Remember well? … Now forget! Because the main reason is only one, and this reason is PEOPLE. Those same three, four, seven, eight, ten people who are next to you on the yacht throughout the entire trip, whom you see in the morning when you wake up, and with whom you sit until late at night with a glass of rum and conversations.
The people on the yacht are amazing, and above all because they are real here. It is not clear why, it is not clear how, but as if by magic, all masks, all roles, all that pretense, superfluous and unnecessary that, like a mandatory business suit, is put on in the city in the morning and is removed only late at night, come off them, alone with oneself... Probably, it is precisely thanks to such inexplicable sincerity that the friendships that originated in the sea are especially strong - having learned what a person really is, what he is REAL, you become attached to him with your soul so tightly that you can’t tear it off already none…
To be continued. .
