"Country" Thassos
We went not to a hotel on Thassos, but to the village of Olion in Skala Rachoniou, friends bought a house there, there is a place to stay and there is something to see - something like a housewarming party. Tickets - through Alexandroupolis, cheaper than through Thessaloniki. There to Kavala (a beautiful city, with a fortress, like all the Greek islands, but at the very top of the mountain, and overhanging houses over the sea) - and a ferry to Prinos.
Skala Rachoniou village near Prinos. And next to the Iliomare hotel, where we often stopped by to meet the owners of Olion, since they are alone at Olion and Iliomare, and just on the beach, because there are taverns and so on on the beach.
The beaches on Thassos are good everywhere, very warm water in July, and pine trees with olives everywhere.
Actually, it was such a summer vacation, according to which the information will not be a guide to action, except perhaps:
1) Aegean lines now fly to Alexandroupolis - you can use this and if you are lucky, buy them between 200 and 300 euros per trip
2) Ferries from the mainland to Thassos go from Kavala and from Keramoti, but they come to different ports on Thassos, so if it’s more convenient for you in Prinos, then Kavala is better. The cost is about 5 euros, and from Keramoti it is cheaper and the schedule is more frequent
3) Real estate in Thassos is cheaper than on other islands if you choose from the islands
4) Iliomare is a nice hotel, cozy
