The hotel did not disappoint: a very spacious and bright room with a huge bed. Everything is very clean, well-groomed, yes, the hotel is not a new building, but left the best impression. The restaurant had a fairly large assortment of fruits and meat with fish. There was always plenty to choose from, there were delicious desserts, buns, croissants, cake, mousse and other goodies.
On site there is a mini-market with chocolates, juices, souvenirs, and other delights of a tourist abroad) They have a very luxurious Marina - this is how the Greeks call the marina or yacht harbor. The view from the restaurant is right on it. By the way, in the restaurant you can eat both indoors and on the balcony. There is always the opportunity to ride a yacht, sail on a boat for 3 euros to a neighboring village. It takes only 15 minutes to sail on the sea. The village of Neos Marmaras has many Mediterranean taverns (mussels, shrimps, squids), shops, a small square with slot machines, and a nightclub.
What can we say about the territory . . I have not seen such an "ecological-natural" hotel yet and have not heard of such. The whole territory is planted with pines, thujas, firs and olive groves. And this means that the smells and aromas of pine needles scatter throughout the hotel complex... very, very cool. We rented bicycles and rode along local trails to wild lagoons . . oh, and I’ll tell you the views there. One lagoon replaces another, some views are more picturesque than others, and all this is in an absolutely wild bosom of nature. If you are looking for a secluded vacation, then you are definitely here! The beaches are very clean with clear water, you can change beach towels daily if you wish. Service is good in general. The pools are also clean and with sea water. Rested just magically. Thanks.
I really liked getting to the town of Neos Marmaras by boat! (ticket - 3 euros).
I advise you to buy a tour and visit Villa Gallini. really liked it.
lots of pleasant memories and impressions, and cool photos.
I liked the cuisine despite the fact that the reviews were worse than for the Aegean Melathron Thalasso Spa Hotel on Kassandra.
in general, everything is very cool. nice. This is a hotel for a relaxing holiday (albeit with children).
Porto Carras… is a paradise for families! I'll start in order)
Upon arrival at the hotel, we were met by representatives of the travel company, and surprisingly, we were settled very quickly, literally in 5 minutes. We settled in the room, went to breakfast and went to explore the area.
The infrastructure for children is of course simply gorgeous, no words! And playgrounds, a swimming pool and water slides, and animation, and even a children's restaurant! (Morning gymnastics, minidisco for children every evening, during the day the children enjoyed riding the slides and splashing in the pool) Very professional animators who speak different languages (including Russian) with whom our kids were not only not bored. They were just having fun and having fun throughout the evening. The only thing is that the Russian-speaking animator was not always in place. But the children finally began to learn a little English, because the company there, even among children, is very multinational. About the climate, this is generally a separate conversation... The air is clean. It’s even scary at first to take a deep breath so that your head doesn’t spin. On the territory of the hotel there are pine and olive groves, a magnificent beach (9 km long) with clear sea.
During the rest, we visited very interesting places, thanks to the hotel guides for suggesting where to go not far with children! We went to the Aquapark in Thessaloniki. I can’t say that it is already very huge and there are a lot of interesting things, but for a change and recreation with children, that’s it. In addition, we visited the Petralona Cave, an interesting place where you can admire the models of ancient animals. The kids were impressed!
And by the way, if you manage to visit here, be sure to go to the theme nights at the hotel! Fish, Greek and BBQ parties. They are held a couple of times a week.
In general, for children it's just a fairy tale. If we had the opportunity, we would stay there again!
When choosing a hotel, we looked at three main indicators: good food, developed infrastructure and a sandy beach. We also chose based on reviews, so I decided that I would write my own. Suddenly, someone will come in handy.
It takes exactly 1 hour and 20 minutes to get to the hotel. I spotted. The distance is rather long, but traffic jams, as I understand it, are not found in this section, so it’s quite fast. We ordered a car only for us, so I won’t tell you how long to travel by group bus. But I think a little longer.
The hotel is very big. Nearby there is also the Sithonia building. Outwardly, almost the same as our Meliton, but we were not in the rooms. The territory is also quite extensive. These two buildings have it in common, so it seems that it is even more than it could be. There is a small supermarket right next to the hotel, a souvenir shop, a clothing store (swimwear and towels are also sold there). Still right at the entrance of the reception of the casino. They said that this is the only casino in general in the resort. But we didn’t go inside, so I won’t tell much.
At the entrance to the hotel, a train stops, which carries around the hotel. It also takes you to the winery. The tour is paid. A glass of wine is about 1-2 euros. But delicious. There they have their own winery and cellar with local wines. You can buy it right away if you want. There is also a marina with yachts and a boat departs from there to the nearest city of Marmaras. There is nothing special about it, but for fun you can drive a couple of times. Cafes, restaurants, taverns, shops - this is all enough. Such a typical resort town.
Rooms: We took a quiet one with a golf view. Good location. Nice view of the golf course. The bathroom is marble, wi-fi works well. But, if it is very important for you to work on vacation, then it is not a fact that it will be so good to pull in your room. Everywhere is different. There is a TV set with Russian channels. Mini-bar for an extra charge, as everywhere. We had bathrobes and slippers. But I do not know if they are in all categories of rooms. There are standard hygiene kits. Well, everything, perhaps. I think everything you need is there. Cleaning quality. I personally have no questions. The wife didn't complain either.
The beach is exactly what we wanted. Wide, sandy and with clear sea. There are many people at the entrance. So go a little sideways. There are also plenty of loungers. Beach towels on deposit. You can change it once a day. Then the deposit is returned.
Another point with the tax on accommodation. If you haven’t heard yet, then last year it was introduced in Greece. Paid depending on the category of the hotel. For our hotel - 4 EUR per night per room. This is not per person, but per room. Keep this moment in mind. Otherwise, I was amazed at how many people were arguing because they didn’t understand what they were given a check for and why they took money at the reception.
