Unfortunately, it was not possible to add photos to this and the last review - some kind of glitch. And the photos are just amazing!

We wanted to dedicate the second day of our car madness to the trip after our hotel sightseeing bus, but overslept and went to the same places, only ourselves)))

We drove again along mountain serpentines with super beautiful breathtaking views and a stunning coniferous smell. We were the first to visit the famous Valley of the Butterflies. For a whole week before the vacation, I studied everything that is on the Internet with regards to Rhodes and knew where and why to go or not to go. So, they wrote about these butterflies that they are stupidly ugly, small, similar to aphids and there is nothing to see there))) It turned out to be true)))

We did not pay 6 euros per person and looked at it all from the bridge without being impressed; )

Then we went to the other side of the island to wander through the ruins of the most ancient town, from which only the partitions of the former premises remained.

Then, trying to catch up with the same bus with our tourists (who paid 50 euros each, unlike us, who were independent and got even more pleasure : ) ), we went to the village of honey... On the way, on a tall mountain, we stopped to buy Heineken and at the same time we were too on the fly, the hostess fed home-made olives the size of a walnut, wine, moonshine and honey)))))) Amazing Greek hospitality : )

Honey in that village was sold in every courtyard, and we expected to see some kind of honey plant... and drove through this place unknowingly))) I had to return there in the evening on the way back and buy OLIVE honey!! ! It is so cool - green with huge olives inside !!! ))) So, in the afternoon, without finding a honey plant, we went on the map to look for a large mountain lake, which I accidentally saw on the map =)

It turned out amazingly beautiful! But absolutely uninhabited. The blue water near the shore, after a meter, was no longer visible to the eye, and anything could be expected from it.

It was even a little scary to be in such an abandoned, albeit beautiful place, so we quickly took a swim (it turned out to be not salty !!! ) and drove in the direction of the intersection of two seas. We had two paths to choose from: along the unrealistic mountain serpentine, or along the coast... We chose the extreme first path =). Ooooh, it was just unforgettable! For the first time, we drove not on excellent European asphalt, but on the usual gravel))) We climbed higher and higher! In the distance we could see windmills on the highest mountain and soon we realized that we were going there! We stopped at the foot of the same peak to take a picture and our friends got the idea to climb the neighboring mountain, which goes into the clouds. She was all such oval purple-blue-green semicircles of thorn flowers. It’s very, very beautiful, but we didn’t manage to convey it with a single photo, it remains only in our memory... I’ll post the photos; )

The guys were in sneakers and jumped between the bushes of thorns with the ease of mountain goats, but Sanya and I in flip flops tore off all our feet! But this hike was worth it! On the one hand, far, far away, the mountain slopes, here already without vegetation, go to the Mediterranean Sea, on the other, the agitated Aegean is spread, immersed in greenery, and far below it has become small, like our freshwater lake on the map.

We decided to have lunch in one of the cafes that came across in the mountain villages. One of them did not work, the old women did not even speak English, but they smiled very good-naturedly))

In the neighboring village, consisting of 4 houses, we stopped. The owners, an elderly couple, instead of the menu, opened the refrigerator for us and showed us what and how they can cook))) The old man was peeling potatoes, his wife prepared snacks for us))) I mixed the cocktail myself, showing her what ingredients I need)) We chatted with them in broken English, had a very tasty lunch and laughed a lot)))) Their cats almost with their fingers tore off pieces of food that they were handed to them, like wild panthers! Having sincerely said goodbye to the hosts after dinner, we moved towards the same goal - “The Kiss of the Two Seas” and soon we were there. A lot of cars got stuck in the seemingly safe sandbar between giant seas, but we were careful to avoid it. Oooooh, how we frolicked in the stormy crazy Mediterranean Sea !!! ! The waves covered right over our heads, and we jumped into them from a running start and swam on them like on a surf! Insanely warm, we fell in love with it with all our hearts))))) But the Aegean in this place was absolutely calm, amorphous and for some reason unrealistically cold, only Sanyok decided to swim in it)))

We drove back to Doretta Beach in silence, under the slowly setting golden-purple sun and listening to melodic Greek tunes in the radio... Another wonderful day full of positive emotions remained behind the Moscow travelers...
