We were satisfied: 60 meters from the sea, across the road on the embankment, the sea is clean, not shallow. Wi-Fi is free, worked well in the room, air conditioning too (earlier they wrote that you need to pay extra for it). Cleaned every day, towels changed frequently, rubbish taken out daily. In addition to soap, there was shampoo and gel, new ones were brought in as they went down (again, they wrote that only soap was present).

The food, I think, is at the level: it’s easier in the morning - cheese, sausage, scrambled eggs or scrambled eggs, sausages, french fries, vegetables, muesli and their additives, and most importantly - good coffee from the machine and croissants. The dinner menu for 7 evenings did not repeat once: Greek dinner on Monday, Italian dinner on Saturday. There were moussaka, and Greek salad, and national pastries, and risotto, and pizza, and lasagna, and even tiramisu! In the evening we cut watermelons and melons, very tasty. Meat in different types, fish is simpler, but you can choose, vegetables and salads.
Halkiadakis supermarket right across the road. The old town is 800 meters along the promenade. The attitude of the staff is very attentive and helpful, many thanks to the young man Vladimir (works in a bar and restaurant) from Mariupol - he helped to navigate in Rethymno. We had a studio room with a small kitchenette. We asked for a kettle and they gave it to us right away. In general, we definitely recommend the hotel.

On the left in the photo is Ikarus (a building on the territory of Levkoniki). Differences from the main old building: a huge room overlooking the sea, with a kitchen and a fresh renovation. Moreover, the tax on accommodation in Ikarus is less (as for apartments) So, I advise not Beach, but Ikarus. Now, specifics.

Now, specifics.
Pros: varied food, close to the sea, supermarket across the road, a little more than 1 km to the center of the old city, only one Russian channel (I don’t know if it’s + or -)
Cons: in the main building of the hotel (Levkonika), the rooms are old and cramped, they have poor Internet connection, the dishes in the dining room are washed disgustingly, the bartender Vladimir, using his official position, brings new visitors with his brother to sell excursions at a price higher than on the street. We got caught. If you fall for their charm and go, do not buy oil from 10 euros and wine from 6 euros from them, the price tag, as it turned out, is too high. Cheese is possible. Have a nice rest!
