На Крите вообще отдых замечательный Crete is a wonderful holiday.

The hotel is very good, even if they took rooms not with a sea view, there is still greenery growing between the windows and the road. The only thing, if you are traveling without children, then, of course, only seaview. Because you have to watch the work of the animators (they made a playground in the backyard). On the plus side: the food at the hotel is just wonderful, in abundance. Everything is clean, sea water in the pools (filtered and chlorinated), towels are changed, the rooms are cleaned, the water in the refrigerator is updated every day. Of the minuses (for me, just huge) is the Internet. It's like it's there, but it's not there. No speed - probably so that no one works for sure))
There is a bus to Rethymno (every half hour), the city is quiet, but beautiful. It won't be boring, that's for sure. If you don't want to drive, don't, there are performances in the hotel every evening. Moreover, they are very unobtrusive (I'm not a fan, but passing by, I stopped and inspected the rooms). In general, it's interesting.
I recommend taking only one excursion - to the island of Santorini. Everything else can be seen on your own by renting a car. It costs a little - 50.60 euros / day. I recommend!
