We come to Crete 6 times, we always stop in the village of Platanias, a convenient location for moving by car, and not far from the airport. Plus, for 4 years, friends have already appeared who live / work nearby. We are staying in Ahose for the first time, before that we lived in Bella Cassita and Galiana / (if you are interested, write, I will tell you). The fact that the hotel is not on the first line did not bother at all, we went to the beach through the Marinos hotel, walk 5 minutes at a leisurely pace. The hotel has its own pool, a couple of times lying there). On the beach paid sun loungers + umbrella, 5 euros for two. Pay attention, you come alone - feel free to pay half. And the novelty this year is for sun loungers in the first row - the price has become 6 euros, the second row and further 5 and left. Even our local friends were surprised. Again, when you come, you will place yourself on the sand - no one will say anything. You have every right). Upon arrival, they gave a room that overlooked the road (260), at first we decided that we would change it, but... ))) it catches wf perfectly in the room, because. room above the bar, and according to reviews in other rooms with this there were problems. There are thick wooden blinds on the windows, they were closed at night, and the road could not be heard. It didn't interfere with sleep. Air conditioning in both rooms. The breakfasts are good, there were always fruits, vegetables, several types of cheeses, scrambled eggs and something for the alternative (pasta, lasagna). They certainly weren't hungry. Beach towels - 6 euros 2 pieces, change on request. Take it to the reception. Room cleaning every day. except Sunday, linen was changed 3 times in 2 weeks. The staff is excellent, friendly. They don't speak Russian, English, German. There were more Germans in the hotel, but our compatriots, mostly families with children, also arrived before departure. The hotel itself is small and cozy. Live performances at the bar on Wednesdays. Very cool group, we listened sitting on the balcony). Separately, about the bar - the most delicious cocktails! Moreover, you can choose from a bar card, or you can ask to do something for yourself, as we did) (the cost of a cocktail is on average 6-8 euros). There are many taverns in the village, choose for yourself, but I recommend the Dionisis tavern separately, there is the most delicious moussaka in Crete). Go outside, and go left for 800 meters on the same side, pass the bridge, an exhibition of ceramics, fur coats, in short, Dionisis, there you take moussaka, lamb ribs, say hello to the owner from Yura and Tanya, and enjoy life) We took the car in Voyager, you leave the hotel, 25 meters to the right, if there are problems with English, then Tatyana and Roman are there, say hello to them too). You can contact them in advance, book a car, if necessary, write, I will give you contacts. There are 2 good supermarkets in the village, bigger and a little smaller. Cards are accepted. If you need Greek creams, cosmetics, then the store, opposite the Voyager, across the road, Masha works there, she will tell you everything, I always take creams, serums, healing balms. So, if we talk about the hotel, we will definitely return, we liked everything. If you have any questions, write, I'll be glad to help
We took only breakfast, which turned out to be the right decision. The food at the hotel is very modest. In the evening, as entertainment, all that remains is to go to dinner at one of the restaurants, which are numerous in the area. Prices are very pleasant, 1 liter of wine - 10 euros, second course 6-8 euros. You will not find a variety of menus in Cretan taverns. Basically, dishes from all kinds of meat predominate. For me it was strange because Crete is an island surrounded by the sea, and the fish is not held in high esteem. Prices at the market for live fish as in Moscow. To the sea 5 minutes walk along a picturesque path shrouded in date palms. The beach is quite gray, a mixture of sand and stones. Upon entering the sea it becomes rather quickly deep. Sun loungers and umbrellas for a fee, but you can lie next to the bed.
In general, the rest was a success and will fill the brain with pleasant impressions. Whatever it was, but still Europe can not be compared with stupid rest in Turkey and Egypt.
