We rested at the end of June 2009. We bought two days before departure for a real, burning tour. For a long time they figured out how much, it cost a day of accommodation and a ticket. Each time realizing that we were lucky. A small cute family hotel surrounded by greenery. The rooms have been recently refurbished. Modern air conditioning system, when the door or window is opened, the air conditioner is turned off. Which every time reminds you that you are in Europe. The room has a small kitchenette with all kitchen utensils. The furniture is all new and modern style. The extra bed has a second retractable tier, very convenient for those traveling with children.
We took only breakfast, which turned out to be the right decision. The food at the hotel is very modest. In the evening, as entertainment, all that remains is to go to dinner at one of the restaurants, which are numerous in the area. Prices are very pleasant, 1 liter of wine - 10 euros, second course 6-8 euros. You will not find a variety of menus in Cretan taverns. Basically, dishes from all kinds of meat predominate. For me it was strange because Crete is an island surrounded by the sea, and the fish is not held in high esteem. Prices at the market for live fish as in Moscow. To the sea 5 minutes walk along a picturesque path shrouded in date palms. The beach is quite gray, a mixture of sand and stones. Upon entering the sea it becomes rather quickly deep. Sun loungers and umbrellas for a fee, but you can lie next to the bed.
In general, the rest was a success and will fill the brain with pleasant impressions. Whatever it was, but still Europe can not be compared with stupid rest in Turkey and Egypt.
