The SEA in front of the hotel is excellent: the sand and the entry into the sea are good, it is very beautiful for children. Since the beach is urban, the cost of 2 sun loungers and an umbrella is different for everyone. TIP: ask the price and bargain. We paid 6 euros, before our eyes new ones came from them, they took 6 euros for only one sun lounger.
ACCOMMODATION AND ROOMS: on arrival one of our rooms was not ready, we were settled for one night in a room of a lower category! They began to insistently offer to drink, apparently they thought they were tired and they would drink and they would not ask for anything. No one speaks Russian in hotels! They began to ask for a penalty, the hostess began to lead too emotionally, she did not give the money, she paid for dinner (with her chosen dishes) in the restaurant at the hotel. In every room, we had 3, something was broken. Even applying for plumbing repairs, it was never fixed. The room has a tile for 2 camphors, all kitchen utensils for cooking.
Cleaning: normal, only one room for some reason was cleaned after 16.00-17.00.
BREAKFASTS: restaurant on the ground floor, has nothing to do with the hotel. It's just two organizations renting space in the same building! Breakfast is not a buffet, as they say everywhere, but a continental one: one kind of cheese and ham, a small pile of olives and capers, one thinly sliced tomato. Muesli one kind, yogurt, honey, jams, margarine. Bread 4 types, there is a toaster. From hot: 2 sausages finely chopped, scrambled eggs or scrambled eggs. Boiled egg. From baking, small puff pastry pies with cottage cheese, a cupcake (as we arrived, they cut it and it lay all the days, only there were no longer 8, but 5 pieces). From fruits they always gave watermelon, apples 2 times, grapes 2 times.
Drinking: coffee from a thermos, canned cream, juices from packages.
When you do not take breakfast, but come and order from the menu, the owner runs in front of you and brews coffee himself, from a coffee machine.
DO NOT TAKE BREAKFAST!! ! We took because we read the reviews about the chic selection of dishes. Imagine our faces when you saw in reality.
Next to the hotel (leaving the hotel, go up to the right, after passing one intersection, you will get to 2 intersections, there is a very busy traffic) there is a store on the right, opposite a bakery and a cafe where locals eat at lunch, going a little to the right towards the old city there will be a supermarket and shop of local residents with fruits and vegetables. On Thursdays and Saturdays, the market, the cost of fruit in the market and in stores is about the same.
It takes 20-30 minutes to walk to the center. In the evening, everything interesting happens there, in the old part of the city.
NUMBERS.
The hotel was completely renovated in 2009. Fully! That is, there is nothing old left. Very nice design, the rooms are made with great taste. A king-size bed with a wide leather headboard, brand new starched linens and towels, hanging lamps and an ultra-new bathroom. Cozy and romantic. The experience is like in a good 5 star hotel. Terrace with sea view. There is everything you need - a refrigerator, a small kitchen, a stove, dishes. The hotel left only the best impressions. A cozy and cheap hotel, a room with a sea view in June cost 55 euros per night, although we were surprised that such a price looks more expensive.
BEACH.
The beach is across the road, sunbeds and umbrellas are paid (6-7 euros for a set of 2 sunbeds + umbrella). The beach is excellent, wide and long throughout Rethymnon! Coarse sand, gentle entrance, clear water!
On the waterfront - a lot of shops selling beach equipment - towels (4-5 euros), hats (5-15 euros), air mattresses and more. There are motor sports but expensive - jet skis (40 euros 15 mins!! ), jet skis (50 euros - 10 mins) and a banana.
BREAKFAST.
Breakfast - continental, bun, local sausage, cheese, jam + tea / coffee. I advise you not to take breakfast at the hotel, there are a lot of cafes nearby where you can get a more complete breakfast for the same money. Other than that, I love this hotel! Can compare with Aegean Pearl (125 euros/night), but 2.5 times cheaper and closer to the center!
