I'll start in order. My husband and I flew to Greece for the first time, so we chose the hotel carefully. Read a lot of reviews. We chose a hotel far away from the village. I didn't want the hustle and bustle of the city. I wanted to relax in silence by the warm sea in a flowering garden. Initially took half board, because. I wanted to travel around the island, see the beauty of the expanses of Crete. And here it is "Iberostar Creta Marine"!! ! We arrived on time, local time at 18.00. We were met at the airport by a girl, a representative of Pegasus, who immediately disappointed us. Having said that there are no places in our hotel today and therefore you will spend one night at the hotel "AQUILA" hotels resorts 5* All Clusiev and a safe for 11 days at the expense of the hotel We would like to thank "PEGAS" for the responsiveness and a good rest!
"AQUILA" hotels resorts 5* the hotel is unusually good! One level up "CretaMarine", more pompous, stands on the first line, on the widest open beach with white sand. We were met very well. We were immediately placed in a great room with a bathrobe, slippers, fruit and wine on the table. At the same time, they said that we had everything included. The next day at 12.00 we were met by a transfer and took us to our hotel "CretaMarine". A wonderful hotel, with wonderful helpful staff and endlessly blooming grounds. We were not placed immediately, because. the bungalows were not ready, but we were immediately offered to have lunch. We lived in a bungalow on the second line in the garden. The room had a table with wine and fruit. Three minutes from the central building and the pool. My husband and I did not regret for a single day that we chose this hotel. Despite the fact that the bulk of tourists, 70% are of pre-retirement and retirement age. Very few Russians. Senior Manager - The administrator speaks Russian. The staff are friendly, smiling and very accommodating. Everyone tries to speak Russian. We liked the hotel. everything!! ! The location is gorgeous, three bays. Two of them are for swimming, one for boats and water activities. By the sea, sun loungers and umbrellas are 4 Euros, but we never paid. Didn't hit collectors. Nearby on the same territory is the hotel "Creta Panorama" they also have two bays. At the end of the second hotel there is a small wild beach. True, it is pebbly, but whoever likes to swim in the open sea, then quite. Around the territory of the rock. Beauties! Three pools with sea water, with sun loungers and umbrellas. Enough for everyone. Class! Central with a bar by the water. Every day not a big entertainment sports program by the pool. There is a room for evening entertainment. Group of animators of five people. Of course, this is not Turkey, but the guys tried very hard. Well done! From Friday to Sunday, music and dance programs in the Bar. The food is excellent, varied. Everything is always fresh and very tasty. Great variety for lunch and dinner. A lot of pastries, desserts and fruits. On Saturday and Sunday for everyone for breakfast champagne. Which we were very surprised at. Sea drinks for all inclusive. The tables are always set with white tablecloths in the restaurant. Excellent cutlery, glass wine glasses. Coffee is served in coffee pots, there is always milk on the tables for breakfast. The waiters do not stand for a minute. For all the time, we have never seen a dirty, uncleaned table. In general, everything is at the highest level! There is no comparison with Turkey, although we have been in 5 * hotels three times. They concluded that no more foot in Turkey. The territory is well-groomed, blooming like in a botanical garden, very clean. The public toilets are perfectly clean, there are live roses. The rooms are clean. Cleaning every day. Towels were changed every day. Bed according to your desire, we were changed every other day. Shower accessories are always complete. A hotel for a relaxing family holiday. Wi-Fi caught everywhere, even by the sea. If anyone wants wild fun and city entertainment, then you are not here. Small gifts and presents for friends and relatives can be bought almost nearby, 10 minutes from the hotel in the Minimarket or in the hotel. I recommend the hotel to everyone who wants a relaxing holiday at the highest level. Thanks to all the staff!
In addition, all impressions were evaluated through the prism of Turkish experience, specifically, the Simena Sun Club hv1 hotel, which currently ranks among the top five hotels in all of Turkey according to Turpravda.
We had the Family Bungalow Sea Front View. We never regretted the extra money for Sea Front View. Seeing the sea from the bed is great! The room itself is very spacious, the view from the balcony is superb.
Service is on the level.
Cleanliness is ok.
The food is excellent.
The territory is green, huge, landscape design is very stylish. In the pools - SEA WATER!
The sea is very clean. There are places to go snorkeling.
According to the weather. 2.
5 days were windy, it was not possible to swim out to the open sea from the bay in the afternoon because of the waves. 3.5 days - calm. It's sunny almost all the time. Once it rained for 3 hours. One more time for half an hour. I liked the climate - there is no stuffiness and the water is warm (26g according to sensations).
The concept of "All Inclusive" is almost the same as in Turkey.
They differ for the better - the quality of food and service in the restaurant, the availability of decent coffee in bars (Americano is so-so, but espresso is quite good), the opportunity to drink coffee for early birds (from 5 in the morning).
Nuances.
There is a safe in the room, we didn't use it.
Sunbeds near the pools are free, but by the sea - 4 euros per day. Children under 12 are free. After 3 days - free. Once a day (around 11:00-13:00), a human walks around and collects either cash or information about your room number (for subsequent payment during check-out). We generally found this human for the first time on the 5th day of rest.
During the eviction, no one asked for money (plus the hotel). In the bottom line - we did not run to take sun loungers in the morning, and lay completely free.
At night, there are a lot of biting mosquitoes in the open air.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the territory - 30 minutes a day for free. We took a subscription for a week for 15 euros. The speed is not very good.
In general, we really liked it. If, as now, the price of a tour to Greece and Turkey is the same, we will definitely go to Greece.
Just got back from Crete! If you are ready for an active holiday, then this review is for you! Be patient to read it to the end, because I will write in detail, because. I love reviews with "details".
On May 27, we flew out of Odessa by a plane of the Windroze company (aka UIA). Flight time 1 hour 50 minutes. In Heraklion, we checked in pretty quickly, went to the Pegasus counter, and we were taken to the bus. It takes a little over an hour to get to the hotel (provided that other tourists will be dropped off at hotels closer to the airport along the way).
And here is our hotel! The first impression is beautiful and well-groomed! What was somewhat surprising was that the guide did not take us to the reception, they just "unloaded" us at the bus and that's it... We were lucky at the reception - there was a girl Anna, who explained everything to us very quickly and clearly, we filled out the registration card, signed up for Thalassa restaurant and bar Dionissos (a la carte) and went to the room.
The room slightly disappointed us with its size and remoteness. We booked a Family room in the main building, and we were settled in a bungalow. We clarified this issue at the reception - we were told that the room we ordered would be free in 3 days, and the bungalow is more expensive, so we're better off. In general, we did not argue further, given that you only come to the room to change clothes and sleep (if this is a matter of principle for you, then it is very important to discuss it with the travel agency). Leaving our suitcases in the room, we went to dinner.
I will go into detail on nutrition. It is more than varied! Poultry, beef, lamb, pork, seafood (not always) were in several options. And of course side dishes, vegetables, cheeses, olives, fruits and fantastic desserts. For breakfast, incomparable yogurts, pancakes, waffles, pastries, omelettes, milk, cereals, vechtina, sausages, cheeses... From fruits there were apples, oranges, tangerines, watermelons, melons, bananas, sometimes cherries, peaches, apricots (apparently, the season just started).
Closer to 8 pm went to swim in the sea. I read reviews that the water in 3 bays stagnates. We didn't see it. During the week of our stay at the hotel, there was literally no wind for several days, on the rest of the days there was a storm at the sea - and just in these bays you could safely swim in clear water. The entrance to the sea is sand with pebbles, you can safely walk without slippers without fear of getting hurt.
On Tuesday, we had a scheduled meeting with hotel guides (the time was called at 14.00, somewhat strange, usually meetings are held in the morning). As it turned out, 3!! ! hotel guides are in the nearby Panorama 3 hours a day and in the evening the same 3 hours in Creta Marina. Why not separate into hotels and sit one person in each hotel remains incomprehensible to us? Because there are few Russian-speaking staff and we had to run around looking for someone to ask our questions. At the meeting, the guide, in the voice of a strict teacher, told us something about the hotel (it can be a little simpler) and proceeded to the most "fascinating" part of the conversation - excursions. They are expensive! The cheapest - the Palace of Knossos - costs either 42 or 52 euros / person (children - half price) + entrance tickets - 6 euros / person. Santorini Island - 140 EUR/person
In the evening the wind picked up again, and we decided to go to the neighboring village of Panormo (3 km from the hotel). We went to the stop and got on the bus going in that direction - tickets 1.6 euros / person. We walked around Panormo. Almost all shops were closed (Greeks are open until 14.00, as well as banks). We decided to return to the hotel by "train" (2 euros / person) - the children really liked it.
On Wednesday morning, the wind did not subside, so we decided to postpone the trip planned for Friday to today. As for travel. . . if you are going to take a car, and not go with a tour operator, then it is better to make an itinerary at home so as not to waste time later. And most importantly - take a navigator with you. My husband had a navigator in his phone (he uploaded maps to it at home), which worked without the Internet (but we didn’t find out about this right away, so we got lost on this trip).
Thursday. Rethymno (gypsy market) - about. Kournas - Argyroupoli. I read a lot about the gypsy market in Heraklion, but we were advised to go to it on Thursday in Rethymno. I was a little disappointed, because I didn’t see the local color, which I read about the market of Heraklion (it takes place there on Saturday). Fruits and vegetables there are expensive compared to our prices, but things can be bought 2-3 times cheaper. For example, good quality T-shirts - 10 euros for 3 pieces. After wandering in the local park, we went to see Fortezza and then went to Lake Kournas. It has three colors of water - and from the mountain it looks just amazing! We took a water bike - 7 euros / half an hour, 12 euros / hour. Then we decided to have lunch at a local tavern. Lunch - Greek moussaka, pasta bolognese, Margherita pizza and a portion of something from shrimp (I just don't remember the name) + plus a bottle of water and a glass of beer - cost us 30 euros. The next destination is Argiroupoli - the village of waterfalls. Each waterfall was "chosen" by one of the Taverns. No one is allowed to watch or take pictures.
We didn't go anywhere on Friday. Dinner was planned at Thalassa a la carte restaurant. This was probably the biggest disappointment of our holiday. Menu - tomato soup with smoked bacon, seafood risotto, grilled vegetables with goat cheese, swordfish (solid dry meat), well, Napoleon pleased for dessert. The children naturally left hungry. Therefore, before going to a restaurant, read the menu. One Ukrainian family, having come for dinner and read the menu, took the children and went to the main restaurant. We regretted that we did not do the same, because. that evening there was a Greek evening in the main restaurant. . .
Saturday. Aquarium - Museum of Dinosaurs - Palace of Knossos. The aquarium is located east of Heraklion in the village of Gournes. Beautiful! Lots of different animals. Then the children themselves went to the Dinosaur Museum (6.5 euros/child, 8.5 euros/adult). They were absolutely delighted! Dinosaurs moved and roared. The kids said it was even a little scary! The final stage is the Palace of Knossos. We wandered through the ruins and went to the hotel.
Sunday. Rest, buying souvenirs, collecting suitcases. There are two shops near the hotel. There you can buy everything for yourself and as gifts - honey, oil, Metaxa, sweets. Prices are cheaper than in a hotel and even in large supermarkets.
I would like to say a few words about animation. The kids have been to the mini club several times. Girls animators do not speak Russian, only French and English. We communicated with our children with gestures. But we still liked it.
Adult animation is something!!!! ! Guys are smart! This one team! Martina, Lubo, Krasi and the rest (sorry, I didn’t remember all the names), thank you very much for not letting me get bored and at the same time not being intrusive (as you showed a sketch about this on one of your shows)!! ! Aerobics, water polo, water volleyball, yoga, step aeroica, darts, boccia, archery, salsa - it was interesting with you everywhere!
I would also like to say that Crete Marina has a common territory with Panorama. As we were told that upon request at the reception, you can go to the Panorama for a meal.
The drinks. I read reviews of other hotels in Crete - they all spoke badly about coffee and beer. In Creta Marina - in any bar you could drink espresso, frappe of decent quality! Very tasty champagne, Metaxa, various cocktails - this is not a complete list of what bartenders spoiled us by the pool and in the lobby!
Many thanks to Galina, who met us every lunch and dinner at the entrance to the restaurant, and to our waitresses in the lobby!
It was nice to see that the personnel manager of the entire hotel and the head waiter took an active part in laying and cleaning the tables, if the waiters were "sewn up"... and they would bring water, pour wine and just say hello to you.
I forgot to write about the territory of the hotel! Very beautiful, a lot of different greenery - everything is well-groomed and trimmed!
Monday. Rise at 5 am. The shuttle arrives at 6.15. If you leave so early, then you need to warn the reception in advance to have breakfast.
Learn a few words in Greek and then your communication with customs at the airport will be less official. We said "Calimero" at check-in to the customs officer, he smiled and asked us in Russian "How did you rest? "
Suitcases. We were told that the weight of one suitcase should not exceed 32 kg, then we were told that it should not exceed 23 kg. So we never knew how much. Therefore, it is better not to take risks and not exceed 23 kg, because there is a rather large overpayment for overweight. In the hotel for 1 euro you can weigh a suitcase. We were also told that one suitcase should contain no more than 4 liters of liquid (oil, alcohol, etc. ). As a result, no suitcase was seen through.
Once again I would like to thank all the hotel staff for their hospitality and attention, which made our stay truly unforgettable!
The staff is extremely friendly, from the hotel lobby to the in-room cleaners. We were always quite skeptical about the animators, but here it was a real show every day. With their energy, they created a unique and positive atmosphere.
The food in the hotel, though not very diverse, but extremely tasty, will be something to taste and lovers of sweets and fans of healthy food (fresh fruit, yogurt). If you stay in this hotel, be sure to take the opportunity to go for free to the VIP restaurant, which serves 5 gourmet dishes that will not leave indifferent any gourmet.
The room we had was a bungalow, and we absolutely did not regret that we overpaid for this type of room. Because it's really a garden and the sea all over the window. From the bedroom there was an exit to the soft lawn, where there was a table for our room and you could spend a wonderful evening with a loved one.
Vacationers at the hotel are mostly seven or older couples. Although these older people can really be said to be young at heart, constantly walking in an embrace, jumping into the pool, dancing to Elvis and modern club music))
According to some 30% of vacationers are Russian-speaking, the rest are Germans, British ...
The only small downside of this hotel is that it is not very convenient to swim in the sea, because the water near the beach is separated from the open sea by an embankment that protects from waves, but in turn it prevents water from filtering properly and it has a slightly greenish tinge)) especially the brave can climb over that embankment and swim in the blue waters of the open sea.
In general, a small shortcoming against the background of a sea of positives is almost imperceptible. Therefore, 9 out of 10 are solid.
But the mood was not absent for long, the huge territory of the hotel was just buried in greenery, several restaurants, swimming pools, the beach is small but clean. The food is excellent, able, I think, to satisfy the taste of anyone. For 10 days, we did not manage to try everything that was cooked there. regret that it is impossible to stay at least a little longer in this paradise.
Excursions: santorini island and sea excursion to Gramvousa island - I recommend, get a lot of unforgettable impressions.
Room cleaning - no complaints, daily, even nothing to complain about, even neatly folded scattered things))).
So what is the result: a good hotel, with good service, food for those who want to relax from the bustle of the city. I recommend it for family vacations, as well as for young couples who want to have a romantic vacation, without noisy discos and parties.
