My husband and I have been vacationing in Greece almost every year, for the past 10 years. We are simply in love with this beautiful country. We were on the islands: on Crete, Rhodes, Zakynthos, we also rested on the peninsula of Halkidia and on the mainland (in Pieria). This time we went to the mainland for 2 reasons: firstly, we were not traveling alone, but with our grandson, and we really wanted to show him Greece with all its antiquities and historical sites, and the mainland is just perfect for this.

This time we went to the mainland for 2 reasons: firstly, we were not traveling alone, but with our grandson, and we really wanted to show him Greece with all its antiquities and historical sites, and the mainland is just perfect for this. And, secondly, our budget was not very large, and in Pieria, hotel prices are quite affordable.
We chose the "Panorama Hotel" in the lively town of Paralia Katerinis. It is located on the first line, almost in the very center, surrounded by numerous shops, cafes and restaurants.
There is direct access to the beach and free sunbeds and umbrellas (by the way, this is the only hotel in Paralia that provides free sunbeds (! ) In all others - for drinks). The beach is sandy with a good entrance - just perfect for relaxing with a child.
The rooms, as for a C grade, are also quite worthy: the furniture is quite new, spacious, clean, good bathroom, TV with a Russian channel, internet, safe. We took a room with a sea view, it costs a little more, but what a pleasure it is to listen to the sound of the waves and look at the sea. Moreover, the hotel is on the first line, it is always crowded and the rooms overlooking the street are a bit noisy for families with a child.
We were lucky, a new water park was opened in Paralia, it is small, but the slides are good and the prices are normal. Timosha and I have been there several times, always returning with great joy.
Well, in addition to the sea and entertainment, we visited many excursions, the emphasis was on historical and educational: Olympus-Dion-Vergina, Athens, Meteora. We were everywhere, but my grandson wanted to show as much as possible, because the culture and history of Greece is one of the oldest and richest in the world.
In general, the rest turned out to be very rich, fun and informative. So we advise everyone to Greece, Paralia Katerinis and Panorama Hotel.

I have always dreamed of going to Greece! And so I escaped with a friend for a week. Specially selected a busy place, so that it would not be boring. I stopped my eyes on the Parala-Katerinis region. I bought the tour from the Mouzenidis Travel company in Kyiv. The overall impression is positive! Although there were few people in early May, we did not have to be bored! We went on excursions and had fun.

In general, we had a great rest!
Special thanks to the employees of "Mouzenidis" They told everything, explained, promptly responded to our complaints and wishes, helped in everything!
Rooms:
Lived in a double room. They settled us quickly. But most importantly, they changed our room to a room with a sea view absolutely free of charge (thanks for this to our hotel guide, who arranged everything)
The rooms are small but cozy. For a trio, very good! There is everything you need.
Hotel area:
The territory itself is small, the hotel has a good cafe-bar. The beach, like all beaches in Greece, is municipal, but clean enough. The sea is certainly shallow, but the water warms up faster. Nice, pleased with the fact that the sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach are free.
Pastime and excursions:
Paralia Katerinis is a small town, but quite lively: a large number of cafes, bars, teverens, clubs. In general, there is something to do. Also nearby is the city of Katerini, where you can go for a walk or shopping on your own.
Excursions were taken directly in "Mouzenidis". In this regard, they have no equal!
In Paralia, of course, there are a sea of other agencies that offer cheaper excursions, but as it turned out, they do not have Russian-speaking guides. They took Meteora and Aridea-Edessa. Never regretted it!!!
Meteora is an insanely beautiful place: rocks, monasteries. . . Just a fairy tale. I had no idea that it could be so interesting. The tour guide Dmitry was also very pleased. It is immediately obvious that he is a professional: he is historically savvy, tells interesting stories and at the same time does not overload with unnecessary information.
Aridea-Edessa is a great excursion for relaxation. Very beautiful park with waterfalls and thermal springs with hot water - it's just something. Rested, relaxed, improved for the year ahead.
If we get a chance, we will definitely be back next year!
