Hotel Ioni 3 * is located in the heart of Paralia Katerinis. Rooms are available both with a view of the sea and the embankment, and with a view of the courtyard. This hotel is one of hundreds of similar small villas with 9-12 rooms. The hotel is cozy, the area is small, nice rose garden, garden. Very hospitable hostess.
The rooms are comfortable - small, but clean and bright. We lived in a room overlooking the sea - very nice: on the one hand the church, right - the sea, on the left an abandoned hotel, which is also good - no one looked into the windows. There is a drawback - very noisy in the evening - at the bottom of the promenade street. For those who lead a nocturnal lifestyle, this will not be a hindrance, but since. we basically spent our whole day sightseeing, sightseeing and going to bed early enough, the constant noise was a bit annoying.
Breakfast is monotonous - every day the same thing (salad, yogurt, bread, cheese, sausage, muesli and sooo delicious muffins), but for the unpretentious (like us) it is quite suitable. Because we are outdoor enthusiasts, so we dined at various delicious restaurants along the coast and in Halkidiki (we rented a car and drove there - beautiful). Lunch cost us 20-30 euros for two with seafood and wine. For those who eat fried potatoes and hamburgers, there are plenty of establishments offering food in the range of 6-10 euros for two.

The sea near the hotel (and throughout Paralia) is muddy, you can swim only in the morning hours: within 2-3 hours after dawn, while the city sleeps and the water is crystal clear. After dinner, there is already kalamut, seaweed, pieces of paper and a lot of people. For swimming, it is better to go either to the left (if your back is to the sea, facing the church) behind the port, or to the right towards the Mediterian Village 5 * hotel (the beaches are public everywhere).
I recommend the hotel to unpretentious active travelers who spend their holidays outside the hotel, and only sleep and wash in the hotel (although it’s not a sin to sit on the balcony with wine and fruit). In my opinion, there is absolutely nothing to do here for people for whom pools, animation and oliglusion are important.
Trips are available from the hotel - Olympus and Dion (20 minutes one way), Meteora (2.5 hours one way), Edessa and Eridea (3 hours). You can take a car and drive to Halkidiki (we chose the Sithonia peninsula as an object of interest and spent the night in the town of Sarti overlooking Mount Athos, by car for 2 days) and visit the Petralona cave (on the way to Katerini from Halkidiki).
