We had breakfast in the main restaurant on the open terrace, since the weather allowed and for my taste it was more comfortable than in the summer heat. Food - everything is tasty, fresh, in sufficient quantity, a lot of fruits. At lunch and dinner, wine is served - white and red local production. Stronger drinks are available at the bar. The hotel stands on a mountain, but still it is on the first coastline. You can get to the beach by going down the stairs - if you are ready for this - this is the only moment that can scare away tourists who are aimed at passive recreation. Nearby there are several more hotels of the Mitsis chain, which can also be visited, except for restaurants, since each hotel has its own type of bracelet. There is a shop not far from the hotel, there is a disco in a separate building, there were not many people, but for us it was not a hindrance, we ourselves have a big company. There is no adult animation in Summer Palace, we went either to Norida or Blue Domes (exclusive hotel - upon arrival I looked at the prices - high, but the hotel looks cool). Outside the hotel there is an aqua park (several slides), which is visited by tourists from Mitsis hotels.

The hotel is located on a mountainside and occupies a large area, the best views of the Aegean Sea are from the Summer Palace. We were lucky with the rooms both times (367 and 346), of which there is a direct view of the sea and the pool, next to another pool (both with sea water, like all 10 that are located on the territory of the hotel). e. 2 rooms, everything you need, the minibar is replenished every other day, the cleaning is excellent and without a tip, in the bathroom: olive soap, shampoo, gel, hair dryer. A five-minute walk - a mini-aqua park for kids, common to all hotels. Beach towels - a deposit of 20 euros each. The beach is sandy and pebbly, the sea is clean, there are enough sunbeds. Descent to the beach is by stairs and three elevators. There is a tennis court, table tennis tables, billiards, a children's room... Every evening we walked around the territory of all hotels, it is especially beautiful at the Mitsis Blue Domes Exclusive Resort & Spa 5 * hotel, chic territory, excellent lighting in the evening, live music... For children - a disco (each hotel has its own).
I would like to note the kitchen. There is no special variety of dishes (it cannot be compared with expensive hotels in Turkey), but everything is edible and tasty. Several types of salads, vegetable cuts, of course, olives, fruits, desserts and several hot dishes. I was pleased with the pork, every day for lunch and dinner, the cook cooked meat and grilled fish with us (the meat was chicken, pork, and natural cutlets, everything was amazingly tasty). The fish, in our opinion, is cooked without imagination and does not cause a desire to try again. During the 17 days of our stay, seafood (mussels, shrimp, squid), unfortunately, was only 5 times. You can also visit two a la carte restaurants (Italian and Greek) for lunch and dinner, an appointment the day before visiting an unlimited number of times. For a change, it's worth going, everything is delicious, the chefs and waiters are trying very hard. Compared to last year, however, the variety of dishes in the main restaurant has decreased. . .
A few words about excursions. The host Le Grand organizes excursions daily. If it's your first time in Kos, of course, it's worth going on a sightseeing tour of the island (50 euros / adult) with a guide (guide qualifications vary, but mostly good), even if you come for a week. A cruise on three islands (8 hours - 50 euros) is not tiring even for children and interesting. An excursion to Rhodes (the whole day - 95 euros / adult) this year started at 5 (! ) In the morning, although in the past - after breakfast There are a few more excursions, but they are for amateurs. By the way, all excursions this year have risen in price unreasonably, for tourists, for example, from Germany and Poland, the same excursions are much cheaper. For example, you can go to three islands by yourself by buying a ticket for a boat or a yacht in Kos (35-40 minutes from the hotel by bus to the city), and the trip will be half the price. For souvenirs on a regular bus (1.8 euros) in 15 minutes you can get to Kardamena (a small village). The bus runs according to a schedule several times a day, stops near hotels. Taxi to Kardamena - 10 euros.

The room is cozy, but the first unpleasant moment was an extra folding bed for a child (although they ordered a normal one), as it turned out later, they deliver such beds to many rooms, since there is a very high demand for triple rooms. SU is VERY small, but we were not going to live there, a very small TV with one Russian channel. Sea of stunning beauty. Excursions - we decided to go with the child to the Greek evening (after the Bulgarian village and the beautiful stories of travel agents). Who has children at least up to 10 years old - I do not advise. Instead of the declared 5 hours, it took almost 7, they expected to return to the hotel by 11 pm, and returned by 1 am, and the bus was not very comfortable for us - the air conditioner did not work, and the only opening window was the driver. There is nothing interesting for children, and for adults there is five hours and watching how boringly two couples a little older are dancing is not very exciting, adults were saved only by wine in an unlimited amount. The food is delicious, as in previous reviews, the only BUT - for some reason they didn’t give teaspoons for breakfast, apparently the Greeks prefer to stir tea and coffee in the morning or with knives. or with forks : ), for those who are negatively disposed to reviews - I ASKED FOR SPOONS (in English) - WE DID NOT GIVE. I would like to note the cuisine, there is no particular variety of dishes (it cannot be compared with expensive hotels in Turkey), but everything is edible and tasty. Several types of salads, by the way, in this hotel they even ate dressed salads, cold cuts, of course olives, fruits, desserts and several hot dishes. I was pleased with the pork, every day for lunch and dinner, the chef cooked meat and grilled fish with us (the meat was chicken, pork, and natural meatballs, everything is amazingly tasty), grilled fish of one type, hot a couple more types. For 10 days of our stay, there was always seafood, mussels in a hot dish and salads, shrimp, squid, crab meat in salads. You can still visit a la carte for lunch and dinner, an unlimited number of entries the day before visiting, this is a Greek and Italian restaurant. For a change, it's worth going, everything is delicious, the chefs and waiters are trying very hard. The attitude towards all nations is the same, Russian speakers are not oppressed.

In the lobby of the hotel, in general, the heat was terrible all the time - apparently they are saving2. Food: Oh horror!!!! ! Yes, there is one synthetic. Yes, it’s varied, so to speak, but it’s impossible to eat, vegetables are not fresh, I didn’t see fish at all in these 5 *, water in the main restaurant (more precisely, the dining room) is served from the tap, so I always had to carry 1.5 liter bottle of water. Before leaving for an early breakfast, a kettle of water was served - it was brown. Due to the flow of tourists, this restaurant is lined up, attention, queue! And they will also tell you what place to take, although after my rather tough and uncompromising conversation with the manager, we did not have such a problem. There are two additional restaurants: Italian and Greek - they are also very doubtful))). There are no branded drinks there either - everything is only local bottling and concentrates. Although I do not drink alcohol, I wanted to drink natural juices. 3. Service: The room is cleaned clearly, but the linen is not changed every day, as stated. Once I wash in the shower, I stand in the foam, and then the water was turned off)))). Staff attitude: very lazy. No one really met and saw us off, as is customary in 5 *, all by themselves. Vacationing with my sister. The travel agency stated the requirements: that the hotel be quiet, without children, and there should be infrastructure around. We got: crowds of children and their endless yelling, in the evening it’s not like there’s nowhere to go out, there’s nothing to do, there’s no animation, even in the pools after 6 you can’t swim and they aren’t heated. And the sea there, by the way, oh, how cold. You won’t walk around the territory too much - stairs and mountains, in general, this is a settlement behind a barrier. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the nearest village and even further to the city. Separately, about the spa in a nearby hotel: it is designed for those who have never tried anything like this before. And there's nothing to do there, people just go. So to say "European quality at a European price" - the same oil for everyone, the procedures are very similar, the specialists are weak. . . Bottom line: if you decide to go to this hotel, count on mediocre 3 *, but then it's not worth the declared payment. Hotel for very unpretentious tourists.

Other people said that it was quiet there, you could hear the sound of the sea in the morning, but we were not lucky. Otherwise everything is good, food is decent, service is good. True, what else surprised me - we didn’t see anything like this anywhere, especially in 5 * - an iron (by the way, not very good), towels and other things are given against a deposit - you leave the money, they give it back when you return things. Very expensive excursions from our tour operators, if we have an excursion to Nisyros that costs 50 euros, then the Germans have 35, for example. I asked why it was so, they answered that ours should be certified, but it costs money)). Therefore, we did not take excursions, we went everywhere ourselves. A boat from Kardamena goes to Nisyros - a ticket for a person costs like 16 euros (if memory serves. . but somewhere like that... ), you come there for another 8 euros per person for a bus. In general, the savings are decent. We also went to the city of Kos by bus, you can get around everything close by yourself. In general, I liked the island.
